Are you up to date on the gen Z phrases?

KiwiBird · 36-40, F
Well it really depends what country your from. Although Australia and NZ share a fair bit of common idioms there are differences. Not really related to Gen Z but....

For example Deadly means [c=BF0080] awesome, strong, brilliant [/c]in Australia but certainly not in NZ

' Mean' in New Zealand means [c=BF0080]awesome or chur[/c] but certainly not in Australia
Ight bet, say less. This shit is bussin & you look like a snack. No cap
@DarkHeaven aw 😅 it's all silly anyway lol. I don't use most of em but some actually rubbed off on me thanks to friends or siblings.
Scroll through some TikTok comments & I'm sure we'd find a ton more 😂
@ChiefWalksWith40oz I’m good. I’m kinda becoming an old lady, and I’m good with that. lol
@ChiefWalksWith40oz I’m 47. It is what it is, ya know? I just seem young because I’m hella immature. lol
Pretzel · 61-69, M

@Pretzel And to you, brother.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Mamapolo2016 When I was a kid, my step parents would say "tough" when they liked something.

Step-mom used to sometimes say "nifty", I always hated that word.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
@ImRileyTheDog Be that as it may, but outdated slang terminologies like "groovy," "outtasight," "far out," and "radical" are still in my vocabulary to this very day.
I’m Gassed to read the comments fam.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F

@sarabee1995 I would say for a 47 year old, I’m surprisingly trendy but that piece of vernacular is courtesy of my younger and much more trendy wife.

As a keen student of language I do my best 🙂 I've got my own personal mentor to help me "get down with the kids" 🤣
Um, what's Generation Z?
@Mamapolo2016 the one after the millennials. There’s even a Gen alpha that’s after them now.
@DarkHeaven I get them confused with Generation X and generators in general.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
@Mamapolo2016 Zorro: Generation Z.
Adogslife · 61-69, M

@ImRileyTheDog I spend a lot of time with a young teenaged girl that I sorta mentor some and she speaks a whole different language. When I ask her what some of it means, she calls me old. 😭
