@Indy74 I am just staying out of the worlds way but I see beauty in children ,elderly couples still looking out for one another (I don't mean you and Joe but I bet your a cute couple ) There were 2 couples at my Granddaughters wedding Both old men in their 90's healthy as horses ,a grip that will break your hand when you shake their hands if a young buck gave them the squeeze ,,they would regret it LOL and their wives are in their 80's (still very pretty ladies) All 4 of them look real good for their age (their religion and diet has a lot to do with that ,,we know people over 100 that still drive and one that is still doing open heart surgery ,,he is famous for it ) But they walk the lake too All my grandkids getting along and you can tell they all love each other and they are at their best when all of them are together ...I just sit back in the shade and ear to ear smile ,,life is still beautiful ,,if you know where to look But I know I am blessed ,and times and places like this are becoming rare ...I keep begging mine Keep raising the standard ,,don't let ANYONE take this from yall ,,when I am gone ,,don't let all our work be wasted But I love an out of the way place ,,I can pray and give thanks ,,and still see it all but no one ask "what ya doing "? and come mess up my moment
@Feuerstern Wow - it would be nice wools he nice to see different scenery instead of the same thing all the time. I run three laps now and 5 when I build up to it. Pass the same thing a lot
@Softandsweet2 Yes but at least it is beautiful scenery to see over and over again. And yes I am pretty spoiled. I love the early morning runs I do on the weekend there.
@Softandsweet2 We have a place in our town its actually marked so people know when they have walked a mile .its a circle drive around a large lake ,,ducks and geese ,fishing is allowed ,lots of park bench's over exert yourself its also in front of the hospital ,county courthouse but they also do part of the Blue & Gray reenactment there ,I guess 2 of our lakes played a big part in the civil war ,we have many lakes and parks here we even still have dirt roads for that laid back Sunday drive just to get away from the city and slow down
This is not a lake I would choose to relax ,its a popular place to walk and jog ,,at lunch the nurses from the hospital walk there and employees from the Tax office and court house ,,you may even see our Mayor out there from time to time ,He is a well loved man Our parks and recreation and events that raise money for our youth are big deals on his agenda ,,this lake is always clean ,and well stocked by the fish and game duck and turtles love it there There is even a gazebo open to the public at 2 of our parks My Girls love to go there to practice for a sing Its a growing real fast city ,but its also a farming community ,,the people have not forgot were blessed or our kids are our future Swimming ,boating ,parks ,Rodeo's and carnivals and fairs there is a lot for the young and old to do here Down town is like stepping back in time ,,but it has everything ,,the buildings are old ,,not the attitudes
@Softandsweet2 I love a day bed on a porch I was offered a condo for free ,, the deck was screened ,bamboo curtains to block rain and the sun I lived on the deck (covered like a porch ,lots and lots of plants hanging and on stands ) I let my room mate use the condo ,I lived on the porch I lived on another friends screen porch for 6 months The always tried to get me inside ,,especially when it rained (things got damp but I was prepared for that ) I love a porch or deck ,,tent or tree house If I am surrounded by trees and plants ,birds I am content ...well since 1994 Before then ,,being alone with my thoughts was the last thing I wanted ,,but I have peace of mind again I can sleep anywhere ,,but I love the woods and on the water
@rckt148 I love to sleep on the porch when it's raining. I actually haven't done it in some time, but I used to have a cot that I used. The rain just puts me to sleep. Add some distant thunder rumbles and I'm in heaven. I always open the window now.
I love to run along the beach, with the waves crashing in, the gulls circling around, and the soft sand on your feet, whilst the sun reflects off the water like sparkling diamonds.
