Is humanity ready to make contact with aliens? Why or why not?

Ghostinthemachine · M Best Comment
Probably not. I don’t have faith in those that would make first contact doing it reasonably or properly.

But I am.

Serpico · 51-55, M
No. The religious zealots will have a melt down because it changes the entire narrative they have with what their holy books told them. The world leaders would fear economic collapse due to a good portion of people losing their minds. But anyone who has half a brain knows they are here and have visited and are far more advanced than we are.
@Serpico ha. perfect answer.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@Serpico imagine thinking religious people are the zealots because it “changes the narrative” when the reality is aliens are actually demons 👽
@Serpico Your comment reminded me of Bertrand Russell's famous teapot analogy:
"If I were to suggest that between the Earth and Mars there is a china teapot revolving about the sun in an elliptical orbit, nobody would be able to disprove my assertion provided I were careful to add that the teapot is too small to be revealed even by our most powerful telescopes. But if I were to go on to say that, since my assertion cannot be disproved, it is intolerable presumption on the part of human reason to doubt it, I should rightly be thought to be talking nonsense. If, however, the existence of such a teapot were affirmed in ancient books, taught as the sacred truth every Sunday, and instilled into the minds of children at school, hesitation to believe in its existence would become a mark of eccentricity and entitle the doubter to the attentions of the psychiatrist in an enlightened age or of the Inquisitor in an earlier time."

It would not surprise me to find that contact has been made already, and some ET’s are pulling the global strings of power.
@Carissimi As do I.
Fixed mind is the greatest impediment.
Carissimi · F
Although, I’m starting to think many politicians have become “pod people.” @PhoenixPhail
@Carissimi I can't deny that possibility.

After reading and studying this phenomena for decades I've come to the conclusion that no, humanity is not ready to make contact with aliens. At least not initially. There will have to be a transitional period so people can become accustomed to them. This is because mankind does not currently have the capacity or ability to understand some things beyond his narrow scope of reality, which is kept to the scale of a small sandbox. It would take a shifting of consciousness from current tribalism tendencies towards global brotherhood of mankind.

Initially disclosure would very likely do serious damage to the way we as human beings run our global civilization. World: governments, economies, religion, history, academia, entrenched belief systems, etc... would all initially suffer and break down to some degree before recovering. When/if we are ever told, they will likely be introduced to the world as invaders so global power structures (who run the planet and have a lot to lose) can maintain their grip on power. Because to disclose the entirety of the truth would mean for those power structures to lose that power as well as incriminate themselves. Author Richard Dolan explores this topic well...

For more on the subject of disclosure reference Richard Dolan's book called "A.D. After Disclosure: When the Government Finally Reveals the Truth About Alien Contact". If you're curious and asking this question seriously, then you owe it to yourself to look it over and come to your own conclusions.

Peaches · F
I think that has already happened, and people have lost their lives trying to talk about it.👽
@Peaches I tend to agree….
PatKirby · M
@Peaches

This would likely be an accurate and credible assumption given its far reaching implications. Small fry have no business playing in the big leagues.
Bados · 100+, M
Are aliens ready to make contact with humanity?
@Bados I don’t know really.
PatKirby · M
@Bados

Not Humanity 1.0, but perhaps in 150 years or so. In all seriousness, they're probably laughing.

"If we are all really alone in this universe, then the universe settled for something very less."
-George Carlin
I don't know about humanity, but I'M certainly ready.
And if they would take me to their planet, that would be even better. Greedy people are destroying this one, AND humanity.
Allelse · 36-40, M
I'd like to!!! But most humans are far too religious, superstitious, ignorant and stupid. They'd probably think the aliens are demons who are out to steal their souls, and while the aliens probably wouldn't suffer much damage from us, I could see humans hurting each over the issue.
Allelse · 36-40, M
@LilithoftheTrees I can see them turning up and me being like "Cool!!! Let's make friends" and then some psycho religious nutter being like "Allelse is one of them!!! GET HIM!!!" and then cutting my head off with a butter knife.
@Allelse the devil made them do it, go easy.
PatKirby · M
@Allelse

This is the current narrative among the sheeple and how those with so much power to lose would like to keep them that way - willfully ignorant and comfortably numb.

Yet these are just some of the things that would probably happen in the immediate aftermath of alien disclosure:

• Human origins may be discovered to not be limited to one planet. Our genus may be found among solar systems similar to our own.

• Due to the laws of physics and genetics being discovered to originate in a higher more structured order than once previously thought, a complete revisioning make take place among institutions of higher learning, thus calling into question the certainty of scientific knowledge

• Public trust of political institutions may be eroded and possibly be held in disrepute.

• The ability of the Armed Forces to secure National Security would be put in jeopardy and possibly lead to undue public fear and disorder.

• Monetary and financial institutions would suffer tremendously...currency value and industrial and commercial energy providers.

• Religion and history in the political context would probably suffer the most damage causing unprecedented upheaval in social and psychological well-being.
4meAndyou · F
Since the aliens have been observing us for quite some time, and no effort at contact has been made, (and we know this because the Air Force and NASA have finally released classified documents), I would say that the aliens have made that decision for us.
@4meAndyou Remember what the U stands for. There are no beings from light years away. Why does the government rely on lousy camera footage? Especially when there are high definition cameras on telephones?

4meAndyou · F
@BlueSkyKing I think that there is plenty of evidence from very reliable pilots, and plenty of footage, which demonstrates that there is technology ON THIS PLANET that was not built by humans.

Our own Pentagon has stated that we KNOW every design on aircraft in development and construction on this planet...and what we are seeing is not of human design or construction.

For one thing, the speeds being used would kill a human being. One of the observed aircraft can go from zero to almost lightspeed in seconds, and go from air to underwater and maintain those speeds. That was observed by pilots and filmed.
@4meAndyou I like you.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
Wouldn't care less about them even if they're real.
KitCloudkicker · 13-15, M
No humanity is to primitive
Some primitive religious groups had already claimed about their contacts with the aliens in the past.
But in the present situation, I believe we are not well equipped to deal with them, or make any contact unless they try it first.
PatKirby · M
I don't see how we could be more ready. Only the aliens would leave in a hurry and radio home. "We didn't stay. They're very weird, like they're from another PLANET or something!"
I don't know about the rest of humanity, but I'M ready to get the hell out of here.

I'll say goodbye now in the event I'm abducted soon.
PatKirby · M
@PhoenixPhail

I hear you. President Eisenhower is rumored to have met with different alien extraterrestrial ambassador groups at Edwards Air Force base in 1954 and signed a treaty (Greada Treaty) with one of them. In it he granted them permission to temporarily abduct some of our people for the purpose of examination, then quietly return them in exchange for advanced technology.

@PatKirby Thank you for sharing this story with me, Pat. This is very interesting. 👽
I would gladly be an abductee. 😃
Elessar · 26-30, M
If they ever come across our species they'll nuke us all for the safety of the universe, before we start f*cking other planets too
diablo · 46-50, M
We will hopefully know more when that Pentagon report is released soon. lol
Humanity?

More like Zoomanity

*sorry, you don’t have many posts so I keep replying to the same one. Please fix this.
maturedragon · 26-30, M
I think there was already contact, but I don't think we are ready just yet
Have you ever been abducted?

By aliens👽
