My favorite from childhood was my family running across the rooftop to tell us Santa had come. We all hurried to bed with promises he would come back as soon as we were asleep.

My favorite holiday tradition is watching Christmas movies.

It was getting together with family and having meals. Since the pandemic restrictions, and then my mother’s illness, it hasn’t been the same. 😞

I miss being a kid when my mother prepared "Hoppin’ John” (black eyed peas and rice) on New Year’s Day.
It was always so nice. And that’s my birthday, so I’d also get a special gift.
