If the BBQ is great, I wouldn’t hesitate to go there regardless of what the other patrons are packing. It’s all about priorities, and great BBQ is an imperative and a priority. @MasterLee
These kinds of arguments that use circular reasoning just irk me...
assuming we're talking about firearm related crimes, reported crimes, particular crimes (involving schools), then sure... things look bad here...
completely ignorant that many of the countries making those comparisons are a fraction of our size, have a fraction of the population, have a less ethnically diverse population, have a higher number of unreported crimes, have a higher number of non-firearm related crimes, etc.
It's like feminism. we have women in western countries complaining on how hard they have it here...
meanwhile, women in middle eastern countries aren't even allowed to show their face in public, aren't allowed to own property, are treated with less value than livestock, assaulted/beaten, molested, sold into sex slavery/bondage, not even afforded the basic human rights that most of us take for granted, etc.
and which gets the most media attention & public outcry?
if you complain about western feminism, you're labeled a misogynist
if you complain about middle eastern treatment of women, you're labeled a racist and/or islamophobe...
People filing bankruptcy because of health issues.

@SageWanderer Oh damn that's a good answer lol. As a new American resident without a health insurance (yet), I fear that if I get really sick, the healthcare system here can jeopardize my living.
@wildbill83 Yeah, we kind of discussed that a bit further up in the post. I know it's not a deliberate attempt to exclude the world, and it's not a criticism from me. The naming is just unfortunate.
@SW-User It's much like faith... People are quick to blame God for natural disasters, violence, personal misfortune, etc.
Yet rarely if ever thank Him for a roof over their head, a meal on their plate, waking up the next morning, etc.
SW-User
@wildbill83 I think that borders a different topic that needs not be discussed lol. There are people who are indifferent about God, and they don't believe in God. I'd leave them be.
People can obtain the highest status, be rich, famous, and accomplished, but if they are a woman or POC, they can complain about being oppressed and taken seriously by the culture, instead of laughed at and told to get over themselves.
SW-User
@SumKindaMunster Woah you're getting a little contentious there lol
I had an impromptu meeting scheduled just after my scheduled shooting time at the indoor range ... so shooting my AR in a skirt and heels ... only in America ? 😁
@SW-User every school day starts with paying respect to the flag before people are shot. When taking a knee during the national anthem, it being an insult to the flag weighs heavier than the racism and violence it asks attention for.
@Bubbles Hehe, and if you ever hear a Brit in a pub or bar say "and one for yourself", it means the barperson can take their own tip before they give back the change. Usually about 1/5th the price of the drink.
SW-User
@Bubbles Can't trust the internet easily nowadays lol
The roots of British blues and metal as well as reggae start here. Black Sabbath (especially Bill Ward) was extremely Jazz influenced. Zeppelin doesn’t exist without the Blues. Purple is a mix of Jazz and Blues influences, with Jon Lord being classically influenced in addition to jazz and blues. Reggae exists because New Orleans long wave AM radio stations playing jazz and zydeco music could be heard in Jamaica. Cajun music and influences are the bedrock of reggae. @SW-User

I definitely don’t see it as a monopoly. My favorite band is The Rolling Stones, and most of my favorites are British. My point was just that America created the foundations, but those foundations have been awesomely enriched as they’ve been consumed and reinterpreted by other countries and cultures. @SW-User

@SW-User and undoubtedly America in 20th century the place for musical instrument innovation... Martin acoustic guitars, Gibson acoustic and the jazz electric to solid bodied electric along with Fender. Fender of course created the electric bass and defined amplification (Marshall copied a Fender circuit for their seminal product). Then to Moog for the synth etc.
@MasterLee This is not a Liberal or Conservative issue. Can you think outside of politics for even one second. I doubt you can. Your brain is fucked up. Oh well. 🙂
@SW-User Extremely fit abd healthy to extremely overweight poor people living below the poverty line. People leaving the poverty class into the middle class. People dropping from the upper class into the lower classes. Marginally competent people getting elected and appointed to important government jobs. Records from government open to the public. Heaps and reams of difficult legal regulations for businessmen. Employer education funding contributions. Superstores with regularly well stocked shelves. Consumer credit availability. Advanced state of the science medical advancement. Space exploration beyond the solar system.
The most beautiful flag ever to be created flying.
More. I just don't feel like thinking hard right now.
@CountScrofula Hahaha I'm not sure America is the only place with that phenomenon, but I do agree that there are flying American flags everywhere 24/7 🤣
@Tminus6453 Curious — why do you assume this is a "bash America" thread? Are you assuming that if something can only happen in America, it's automatically bad?
