When I hate doing dishes and get all whiney, I think this:

I own dishes
I own a sink
I just had a good meal
I have dishes because I eat a lot of good food
I have shelter
I have the means to clean my things
My hands are in warm soothing soapy clean water

Washing dishes is one of the few chores I don’t put off. I put the cooking pots in to soak while I’m eating.

I don’t do dishes

i do talk to myself but it never gets that deep

For me it's cutting the lawn or going for a run.
