I once quit a job 1 hour after starting

I’ve had some jobs less than a year, but my youngest lost a job in two hours. It wasn’t that he was bad at the deli, but once they found out he was on wrestling and he told them all the days be couldn’t work, they told him he was done. 🤣

I don’t even think they paid him the $18 that they owed him.

Worked for 3 weeks at a property management office at a small condo. I wasn't interviewed or talked to anyone from HR. The property manager did the interview himself. The girl who was supposed to train me did not show up until the mid-afternoon and it was basically just 2 or 3 hours. After being yelled and screamed by the property manager for not doing anything right, after my third week there, I just quit.

About 10 minutes. I did a group interview via zoom. They went through all these questions and lecturing . Having us speak one by one about our experiences etc. Gave us all these what would you do in this situation scenarios, and in the end told us that we are all hired. But mentioned absolutely nothing about the pay, so I asked and when they told me I said I respectfully decline. Several people said it behind me also.

I was a janitor at Simpson's department store when I had just turned 16. I had to walk a mile and a half in the morning to get there for a 5 am start, because the buses weren't running that route yet. My day was spent with a bunch of grumpy old guys who complained constantly that I worked too fast and that I was trying to make them look bad. I was just trying to stay mobile. The day crawled by slowly enough when I kept active -- I can't imagine how long the day would have seemed at their pace. All in the name of trying to earn enough money to take the love of my life to the fair and win her stuffed critters. The lob lasted two weeks. The relationship lasted longer, but not near long enough.

At the end of my first shift at Burger King I was giving myself a pep-talk in my head about hanging in there with it even though I hated it. As I was leaving, the mngr came up to me and asked 'So, we'll see you same time tomorrow, right?' and I just spontaneously said 'no' 😂

When the supervisor had me in for an interview, she was late. When I emailed her a question, it was a day or so before she answered me, same thing again with the next question. When I went in to start the job, I waited & waited for her to come to the lobby & get me. Finally I'd had enough of her nonsense & walked out.

Out of desperation, I went to an interview for a position at an ICE detainment center. I didn't even make it past the lobby. My conscience wouldn't let me do a job like that.

Some weird gardening job in high school making weird Pachysandra cuttings...I was like, I'm not doing this for 4 hours...I might have lasted 45 minutes...mind you I liked gardening even then, I don't know what that was...

2 days my first job as a delivery driver. I have a lot of others I stayed way to long at though.

You beat me. I worked for retail 3 hours, went on break and called them on the phone saying I quit

Door to door sales as a student. Went to the training, but never bothered to turn up to the job the following day.

I worked as a loader for interstate trucking for two weeks.
It paid really well and I used the money to go to a U.S. Open Chess tournament.

1 day, worked in the factory that madeTickle Me Elmos. as he came down the line my job was to give him test tickles just before packaging. got fired for letting the line back up. wasn't my fault though had to make testicles myself and sew them on the doll

Damn those dishes!

I've had two jobs in my life. A bartender for eight years and my current one. 🤷🏼‍♀

At a pizzeria, I stayed there for one shift, never came back.

I didn't make it past orientation, it was for a roaming patrol in the eastern Las Vegas area foothills, they showed me my route by driving it, some areas had me hanging over high dirt cliff roads, my tires barely on the path, and then told it was on Indian burial grounds, so when we got back to hq, I was out of there.
