@FoxyQueen 😲my goodness how callous can management be this is traumatic and something that may stay with him for the rest of his days. how callous to even think anyone woulds make up a story to get time off

Same here with a friend. He has to have an operation of some sort. The company was asking for proof. Is this the policy now?
Sadly having done sales I know people love to make up sob stories constantly, if this was known to be an excuse that would never be checked by companies, there are people that would unfortunately lie about this constantly to get a few days off.

Omg…
I know that sometimes people "kill off" family members (grandma died, aunt died, etc.) to get time off.
But that sounds highly unlikely here. Poor guy.
After something like this, I probably wouldn’t want to work there anymore. Bring in a copy of the death certificate—and then quit. 😞

Unbelievable but that’s corporate America and a lot of bosses act like CEO’s too.

its difficult on both ends

@Matt85 Maybe, but the "cost" is too high to doubt. They need to trust. For anyone to even attempt to rationalize the behavior is iffy, frankly. Contrary to the offed guy's rhetoric, compassion is not "new age," but as old as time. This is why major religions give it precedence.

"Prove it"
"Okay"

@HootyTheNightOwl I'd also include a call to the health inspector to be present upon arrival since it's a pizza place
