Well I believe cat lovers claim cat litters and cat flaps work but I suggest trade in for a dog

Thank you for doing what you do. As for the cat piss, it's a lost cause until all the carpet is replaced and everything is properly washed. I supervised a team of four teenagers and one adult who helped a woman in a mobile home with four cats and smelled terrible. We ripped everything out, used Mr. Clean and other stuff on everything. Replaced the carpet. County home care services took the cats, and let her keep one. The kids wore masks and had to take frequent breaks to avoid getting sick. Great kids!

@HoeBag Ah the neckbeard.... NOPE

A male cat that has not been neutered will spray throughout the house. It is rancid and you will not get it out of drywall once it has soaked in. I know people who had to strip the drywall from the house they bought to get rid of the smell. I hope lesser methods work for you.
Tumbleweed · F
@bowman81 The female has been spayed but not sure about the male. You're correct though and I'm afraid it's just seeped into everything.

I once had to deal with dog pee on every single surface of my mother's house. There were 4 dogs, and they peed on every piece of furniture and all over the floor...and all her stuff was ruined. I ended up having to send her furniture to 1-800-Got Junk, and they broke every thing to bits in a giant dumpster.
The pee had gotten into the GROUT and under the floor tiles, so I bought 10 gallons of Nature's Miracle enzyme cleaner, and flooded the floors, then left for 24 hours. When I came back ALL the Nature's Miracle had soaked into the grout and under the tiles, and the smell was finally completely gone.
Obviously you can't do this at your client's house, but you might be able to bring in a spray bottle of Nature's Miracle and just spray the worst of it.

@4meAndyou That's terrible!!! Wow!!!
I don't think they've gone on the furniture, my clothes don't smell like it when I leave & I've never smelled it later on when I do laundry so I'm thinking it's just seeped into the walls or something. I don't know but it takes my breath. I also think that if they would raise the windows sometimes, that would help with the smell.
Thank you for the info, I'll definitely be looking into that.
The lady has asthma so how she doesn't go into an attack amazes me....

Girl you have such a big heart. You do home health, right? I’m glad that there are people out there like you who care about the clients.
Tumbleweed · F
@TurtlePink Yes ma'am, home health. And thank you 🫂🫂🫂
HoeBag · 46-50, F
The mesmerizing fragrance of animal urine can be pretty tough to get rid of.
Every time I hear stories about what pets do to homes, it reminds me why I am glad I do not have any. Oh I love other peoples' pets when I visit, but let those pets destroy someone else's house.

@Tumbleweed I do not have much that I think a cat could ruin but I am sure cats could still find plenty to destroy.
My son has a cat that apparently isn't too bad.

@HoeBag Mine climbs on everything, his thing now is the bathtub. He gets in there & just runs back & forth... tf??
HoeBag · 46-50, F
@Tumbleweed ehh not too bad, nothing really to ruin in the bathtub.
One time I was on the phone with a friend and she gasped real loud and said, "Shadow, what are you doing?!"
Her cat was climbing the curtains trying to catch a fly. 😄
We were making jokes about how one cannot say or write "catastrophe" without "Cat".

Are they not cleaning the boxes or the cats not using them?
If it’s the latter, they gotta clean with enzyme cleaner all the spots the cats are going. It’s the only thing that works.

Tumbleweed · F
@SwampFlower Thank you! I'll try anything!!
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
@Tumbleweed There’s also scented baking soda you can add to the litter between changes/during scoops that will help absorb the smell.
Tumbleweed · F
@SwampFlower Thank you!!
twiigss · M
Not sure here but would baking soda help with the odor? My thought too is if the odor is emanating from a carpet or something, that carpet will need an extreme deep clean
Tumbleweed · F
@twiigss That's what I'm afraid of but around the box, the floors aren't stained or anything.
twiigss · M
@Tumbleweed hmmm. Could be in another area with no box
Tumbleweed · F
@twiigss true
Nitedoc · 51-55, M

TallMtnMedic · M
That smell is murder on my sinuses. Always causes a headache for me.
Tumbleweed · F
@TallMtnMedic I wish they would move the litter box to the other end of the house but then I'd be afraid it would confuse the cats & they'd definitely use the floor.
TallMtnMedic · M
@Tumbleweed Cats dont get confused like that. Just move it, and show them where it is.
Tumbleweed · F
@TallMtnMedic Ok, good! I'll definitely do that then. That'll make it easier for me to figure out if it's the box or if they've gone elsewhere in the house. The front of the house doesn't smell at all, just the room where the box is.
JackDaniels · 46-50, M
That is the worse smell. Thing is the people that are in the house dont smell it.
Tumbleweed · F
@JackDaniels I'm going to have to honestly. I mop the floors & clean the box all the time but it just stays smelly in there.
JackDaniels · 46-50, M
@Tumbleweed Would be taking lots of breaks.
Tumbleweed · F
@JackDaniels I do go outside quite often
bookerdana · M
Maybe wear a mask? No idea what to do about the smell😷
bookerdana · M
@Tumbleweed mebbe get an N-95(?) super mask
Tumbleweed · F
@bookerdana I definitely will look into that. It's super bad. They have two very large cats & it's overwhelming.
bookerdana · M
@Tumbleweed I think baking soda would help with the odor on yer clothes
Lilymoon · F
Ugh the litter box probably hasn't been changed in months 🤮
Tumbleweed · F
@Lilymoon Girl it's bad. These cats are so big that I was a bit intimidated by them when I went to meet the clients!
Lilymoon · F
@Tumbleweed yeah it's probably permeated into everything. Yikes ... you guys do a great job tho. 👍🏻
Tumbleweed · F
@Lilymoon Thank you, love!
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
Also for urine she’ll clean with Odor Ban!
Shybutwilling2bfriends · 61-69
