What's the deal with ridiculous job requirements?

Ph.D, 100 years of experience for $10 an hour😐

That's how ridiculous job posts are that I see.
They just do not want to pay people decent wages.

I think it is poorly thought out to say they do not want to pay people decent wages? I mean first let's start with defining decent wages? Second it is their obligation to owners of the business to maximize profits, therefore anyone hiring you is obligated short and long term profits by finding a wage that does that. To complain about a wage is to completely miss the employer/employee relationship in capitalist society. By the way unions and minimum wagers are at conflict with a free
market place.
@southbeachguy that’s not an answer.

Or they'll tell you how much it is a year but later in the filing process ask you how much you expect to earn an hour... Why?
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@Thevy29 I filled in an app and put what I'd like an hour, then got an immediate rejection email stating that what I requested is over the limit.
🤨🤷‍♀️

@iamnikki Ever have higher qualifications then the job your applying for and they expect you to do tasks beyond the scope of that job?

I just read that some major employers are reducing some of those absurd requirements.

They are not actual job postings. As in, either the position is not even available OR the position does not even exist.
Companies put put stuff like that just to see what kind of responses they will get.
Just to get an idea of how little they can get away with paying for a job that requires decent education and experience.

Either that or it is scammers phishing for personal info, which is less likely.
Depends on the job.
