Question: does one keep instances of losing it to oneself?

Today's society is stressful. But what do you do about it? Keep it all private and try to find an outlet for it? Try to renew yourself each time before going back or coming back from it? Is anyone actually still pushing back on this? Or is the fright of losing ones job way too much these days, or hasn't one even got the time to really think about it?
Probably ideal to have an arsenal of strategies,
and use which ever best fits the situation.
- Learning emotional self-regulation. Insight meditation, psychologists or self-help books can help with this.
- If anxiety gets too overwhelming, trying breathing into a brown paper bag for a few minutes - the CO2 is calming.
Slow, conscious deep breathing helps. For anger or anxiety, going for a very fast walk until tired helps enormously.
- NVC, CR and communication skills.
- Practical problem solving skills.
- Good understanding of boundaries, how to recognise them in oneself and others, and how to assert and respect them.
- Keeping fit, proven to help handle all kinds of stress.
- Regular time with a confidant - mutual sharing and empathy about whatever's happening in one's life.
- Pre-scheduled leisure time - in nature, hobbies, reading, pets, etc.

@hartfire Right, taking note. Anxiety needs to be controlled. Boundaries up. Keeping fit. Regular meetings with confidant

WALK AWAY and drop out of at all.

Keep it inside and pray about it 🙏 I have been hurt before by people I thought I could trust.

In RL I try to keep everything very private. Instances of "losing it" are almost non existent now, because I no longer have to live with people who cause me to lose it.

I suppose I am easily stressed, but have always managed to do what HAS to be done at my jobs. As long as I could come home to peace...that is what made me strong enough to continue.

It's good to talk. When you lock yourself in and think most others are coping just fine, that is a recipe for an early grave.

Talk about it.

@SW-User Oh yes, that's really good avice. Keep on talking!

Just retire and forget about it 💁‍♂️.
Then a year from now you will look back and say to yourself . It was all bullshit wasn’t it 💁‍♂️

It's a delicate balance to walk.

@Queendragonfly Where do you think that red flags are?
Yes it's very stressful. I try to keep up. But can't think about anything else in hand due to rising expenses and less wages.

@littlepuppywantanewlife What would you take as serious enough to report though?
@val70 my work place is casual so not many laws apply. However for a better future I need learn new skills and educate myself to find a better job and environment.
