4 days of 10 hours
RopinTexan · 36-40, M
It depends on the days and times. My work actually allows an “alternate work week.” Friday-Sunday, 7am-5:30pm (with a 30 minute lunch). Then there’s the standard work week that I work—Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30.
Personally I’d love to work just four days a week for ten hours a day, but the issue isn’t the times but the days. Sunday is church. Also, Tuesday early evening is rehearsal. If I could work Wednesday-Saturday for ten hours each day, that would be perfect. But the way they’ve got the days set only allows me to do the standard work week.

Four 12 hour days is followed by four days off work right?A shift pattern.Even then it is more than a 40 hour week.
icedsky · 51-55, M
I like the schedule I'm on. 4 twelve hour shifts. 2 day shifts then rotate to 2 night shifts. Long weekends most the time.

{@saucylover] 😆 you better check your hours here as one week you work forty hours the other forty eight hours
Josh1454 · M
I use to work 7 12 hour shifts in a 2 week period. 3 days off one week and 4 of the next. Always had long weekends.

I've worked 4x12 and 3x12 alternating. I liked it. Gave me time to see my kids etc.

Both sound like hell tbh. I cannot imagine wasting that much of my life 😂
Convivial · 26-30, F
I used to work 4 on, 4off, 12 hour shifts... Brilliant once you get used to it
southerngent · M
Do I get paid more for working the 48 hours?
Saucylover · 26-30, F
@southerngent Nope. Just salary. The overtime is covered within the salary. But some people do get paid for working more. Depends on the term of the company.

Eight hours a day, five days a week. Anything extra counts as extra money in my pocket, and I love extra.

5 days of 8 hour shifts. Fewer days off but you'd be less tired so you'd enjoy them more 👍
pdockal · 56-60, M
4 @ 12 ....... 48 hours
5 @ 8 ...... 40 hours
So 4 @ 10 .... one less day to commute
