Unfair fight I mean who's in YOUR corner...NOBODY. Gotta pick your battles but they'll push and push and push like school-yard bullies or someone trying to start a bar fight. It's just sad being a "human resource" transplant scape goat type thing to inflate their power trips...my pizza is here gotta go but maybe I'll get in some more on this later.

When you're not used to setting boundaries and standing up for yourself this is how you end up feeling.
Unfortunately you are all tied to a contract and job description so that means you should all be working as a team. If that isn't happening your manager should be stepping in to ensure this is happening or delegating/allocating people to get that job done.

In the event that it is always you, may be laziness on the managers part, simply because you do it no complaints asked. But actually that's not fair.

If you are fired for this I would suggest you seek legal advice and take them to the tribunal for unfair dismissal. Even if this isn't the kind of job to fuss about. It's the principle of it all.

Good luck my dear.

Don't feel guilty for standing up for yourself x

(Just stood up for myself in a situation I was taking for too long and although initially felt guilty I actually feel free)

Yes I feel like some horrible person if I EVER speak up. And get major anxiety. But at some point we all have to have a boundary don't we?? Even at work or anywhere. Sometimes, it's ok to say No . I can't sorry.
That's not too bad in the realm is it, plus everyone else says no all the time to various things. I'm sure it'll be just fine🌻
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@Coralmist I wish I could be less sassy about it, but I think that's because I put up with so much and don't speak up until I'm emotional.

It might not be fine 😂

But you are right, at what point do we stop being a target for being kind and helpful?
DrWatson · 70-79, M
I understand what you're describing. I can feel something like this, though not to the extent that you seem to be feeling it .

In my case it's not guilt, as much as it's a matter of not looking forward to future interactions with someone in whom I have just stirred up animosity toward me.

But that just can't be avoided sometimes.
JackDaniels · 46-50, M
You did the right thing. Not fair she only does it to you and i would not feel guilty at all.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@JackDaniels she might do it someone else when I'm not there 😂
JackDaniels · 46-50, M
@ScreamingFox She might but she didnt do it to you this time. Well she tried.
I have those moments too, but more often than not, I use my inner self and speak out. People shouldn't be allowed to live rent free in your head. They need to be held accountable for what they do and say
caccoon · 36-40
I totally get thiis.

I think wew get used to bending to other people's ways, and certain people learn that we will.

Then when we do stop tolerating bad behaviour, we feel guilty for changing the dynamic.

I'm proud of you. 💙

Managers tend to take advantage of good employees. I'm glad you didn't let her..
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@Cloud7593 I know I'll pay for it
Livingwell · 61-69, M
If you don't speak up for yourself, who will? You're not a doormat. And people need to have a little respect for each other. Please don't feel guilty for doing what is right.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@Livingwell I wish I could stop
Livingwell · 61-69, M
@ScreamingFox Know that you are in the right for protecting yourself.

Yes I am very bad at standing up for myself. I usually don't because I don't want to cause a scene or upset someone
Bang5luts · M
Yes I over think things at times to. Like should I reply on this post? It's over a week old. Will people think I'm creepin on her profile. Naw People will know the feed is slow sometimes.
🤦🏻‍♂
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
Boundaries are essential. Conflict sucks, but WE decide how we're spoken to, not THEY. And some people really need to be reminded of that.
I do, and I second guess myself if it was the right thing to do
