Worst physical pain you've ever felt?

I've had torn ACL and MCL, several cartilage tears, three joint replacements, but nothing came close to the pain in my legs due to nerve compression in my back. Surgery solved the problem, but I was in total agony for a while.

Honestly?

Tearing my sternal/intercostal muscles: the muscles that surrround your ribs.

Breathing was painfully scary. I started hyperventilating coz any normal depth of breath made me feel i was being stabbed.

So it was kinda cyclic: i hyperventilated, which increased stress, which made me hyperventilate ...and so on.

I couldn't stand up coz the weight of my body pressed upon my ribs - so i "stood" in ER using two chairs as crutches.

I actually got genuinely frightened coz i exhausted my arm muscles. When they wore out - i couldn't hold myself up.... and I stared to cry - which was excruciating.


All i could think of was how much of a wuss i was.

I imagined 100 years ago when people would just suck this shit up 🤷‍♀

I think long term pain is the hardest - it wears you down

Same as Sara. I broke my hip in 2018. The ambulance driver said on a scale of 1 to 10 how bad is the pain. I said 1000. Lady we left the 1-10 scale. It hurts every time the weather changes. Hate it hate it hate it.

Coming off anesthesia from inguinal hernia surgery.

The pain was the worst I’ve ever had (and I’ve given birth without any pain relief). It felt like I was being electrocuted

Then they gave me fentanyl and I fell back to sleep.

Having 3rd degree burns from my knee to my stomach. I was in the hospital for 9 days.

hard to say; kidney stones are pretty bad, but the 8-10 months of recovery after taking ied shrapnel to the back wasn't great either...

When the hypothalamus part of your brain triggers the Trigeminal Nerve pain pathway in the face.

They call it Cluster Headaches.

Had them as a child.

Did you know women have twice the amount of pain receptors as men? I always thought we were just more stoic turns out we just don't have the ability to feel.

for me it was the pain of a broken hip, still feel it on a raw and rainy day

It`s a toss up between herniated disc or ruptured appendix.

I had a spinal tap once..that was pretty rough

When I fractured my neck in a car accident. Thank god for morphine.

Trigeminal neuralgia was worse then child birth.

When I broke my arm it was shaped like this: ---___--- looked like something from a horror movie and hurt a lot - until I got to hospital
