Worst physical pain you've ever felt?

I'd say giving birth, but a torn ACL was right up there, but that was only like a minute then it was numb

Honestly?

Tearing my sternal/intercostal muscles: the muscles that surrround your ribs.

Breathing was painfully scary. I started hyperventilating coz any normal depth of breath made me feel i was being stabbed.

So it was kinda cyclic: i hyperventilated, which increased stress, which made me hyperventilate ...and so on.

I couldn't stand up coz the weight of my body pressed upon my ribs - so i "stood" in ER using two chairs as crutches.

I actually got genuinely frightened coz i exhausted my arm muscles. When they wore out - i couldn't hold myself up.... and I stared to cry - which was excruciating.

All i could think of was how much of a wuss i was.

I imagined 100 years ago when people would just suck this shit up 🤷‍♀

I think long term pain is the hardest - it wears you down

@FreeSpirit1 i know there is worse.

Like what @MellyMel22 mentioned.

But being scared to breath came with a psychological factor i can't explain.

@OogieBoogie I did the same thing while bench pressing at the gym. I thought I cracked a rib.
@Lostpoet i think i did mine from coughing (RSV) ....and then going to work with already sore chest muscles.

Man ...i woke up at about 11pm, kinda sore,.... then it just kept growing.
By midnight i was starting to freak out.

It did cross my mind that i wondered if it was similar to a cracked rib.

Altho think I'd tore about 7 or 8 of the muscles down one side.

It does amaze me how our bodies heal tho. Within a week i was back to normal.

@OogieBoogie Mine took like three months
@Lostpoet shit! Really ?

Maybe i remember wrong🤔

Maybe im just so old im used to shit hurting its become standard😅

@OogieBoogie You're not that old and I further aggravated whatever I did by continuing to work out after I heard my chest pop. And to tell the truth I didn't stop going to the gym afterwards that is probably also the reason why it took so long to heal.
@Lostpoet omg !
You worked out after tearing it !

Holy cow!😂

@OogieBoogie It didn't really hurt until hours after it happened and the it really hurt like you described even just breathing a little bit hurt.
