FOX is warning it's viewers for fearmongering on the left about AI and datacenters... according to them, fearmongering is a way to control the population.
... I'm still figuring out if this equation is an explanation about how the left operates, or if FOX copy pasted their business model? 🤔
It wasn't the Left that brought us McCarthyism, the Satanic Panic, the screaming panics about gay marriage, or reviled horror of illegal immigrants with no attempts to actually improve immigration laws. They also didn't bring us "Better dead than red!", though they sure seem to have adopted it (albeit with a different form of "red"). This isn't one-sided.
Fear and anger are the easiest ways to control the masses. Anger makes you want to act and keeps you from thinking clearly; fear makes you want to hide and keeps you from thinking at all. Remember those two sentences and 98% of politics will suddenly make sense.
Yes, don't buy into the fear mongering over AI and data centres. Instead buy into the fear mongering over Iran and illegal aliens 🤔 Make it make sense.
Absolutes can not be liberal. They believe in change. Conservatives believe change is bad. Hence the equality. Conservatives as well don't believe in differentials (dx/dy). Because that leads to change.

It's been a regular occurrence for each side to use tactics that it says with horror that the opposition uses. Critical thinking is the only way through.
And yet another example of how one extreme always accuses the other extreme of doing what they are in the process of doing. In order to avoid actual discussion of any issue and dealing with the reality that truth is probably somewhere in between.
@Kwek00 Point taken. Fact remains, people need to use critical thinking particularly as it is going to get even harder as AI takes over more and more of the "thinking" for us. GIGO
@dancingtongue I don't get how you went from 2001 to 2026... and are promoting critical thinking because of AI. Do you think that all the people that weren't on boat with the critical thinking, aren't dangerous enough without AI? Because, if there is one thing human beings have shown, it's that you don't need AI to create more problems.
Also... those critical thinking skills, need to start questioning common wisdoms... These sorts of boutades: "In order to avoid actual discussion of any issue and dealing with the reality that truth is probably somewhere in between.". This is actually eroding the "center", because for the last 10 years in the US... those people have been looking at that center that lies between utter delusional and a center to center left party.
