Has a "Dry Clean Only" garment

ever learned the harsh reality of unfortunately belonging to you? 🤔

I lost two wool jumpers to the incompetence of 1. My mother and 2. My wife both of whom claimed to have vast experience at housework. I don't claim to be good at housework but at least I can read clothes labels and thus never lost a good piece of clothing to the wash.

When we first met you were the teacher and I just a learner, now I am the master of washing.

@Punxi No but I can show you how to whip out a pair of jeans fresh from the wash before hanging to get rid of any creases...is my display of domestication turning you on yet?
Punxi · 31-35, F
@GeniUs Turning me on...sheesh. But ummm...tell me how you feel about the use of coasters. Slowly. Js.
GeniUs · 56-60, M
@Punxi Necessary especially for hot drinks, although I use a handkerchief folded into a square which does the same job. (I hope we're talking about the same thing.)

All of my work clothes. My dry cleaners has a drive-up window ( sliding doors) and they grab my laundry when I bring it and hang it in my truck when I pick it up. They know me by name. 😊

The only thing I'd dry clean is a high quality suit and such. If it's something like a Saville Row bespoke suit, you treat it with respect. The people who handmake it are artists.
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
Yes. I only ever regretted it once. I had a throw given to me/us for our wedding and it was dry clean only. I washed it then the tassels looked stupid after. I hate dry cleaning but I thought it was worth the chance.
Punxi · 31-35, F
@DoubleRings Bet If I seen it I'd think the tassels looked okay. Yep.
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
@Punxi yeah probably true. No one else would know. It’s a white throw and I just can’t see myself going to the cleaners every time it needs a wash!
Degbeme · 70-79, M
I do all the laundry in this house and nothing gets dry cleaned. Cold water gentle cycle for stuff like that.
I think I would just hand wash it in the sink. Dry cleaners is next to impossible to get to.
Punxi · 31-35, F
@Gingerbreadspice Sometimes common ground can be as small as a cocktail napkin. Cheers to samesies. 🍹
I wash my dry clean only. They don't get special treatment
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
Once. I’ve since learned that “dry clean only” is actually French for “this one isn’t for you” 🤷‍♂
Punxi · 31-35, F
@Zaphod42 Hey! What used to be shoulder pads can easily transcend in to bust enhancement I say....ish.
Iwillwait · M
Yes, and I send it to the Cleaners always.
Punxi · 31-35, F
@Iwillwait Never a stray fork in your designated spoon slot hum? 🤔
itsok · 31-35, F
For sure. But a dry-clean only garment has also learned to toughen up and live like the rest of us- cold tap water washing and high heat drying.
Punxi · 31-35, F
@itsok Right on! I mean like...the shrinkage an basic material distribution displacement mine has experienced I'm thinkin' is cutting edge...ish.
noexpectations1 · 41-45, M
I think all garments should be open to new experiences!
TheShanachie · 61-69, M
Yes a suit. So I rarely wear it.
Keeper · M
They barely make it an hour, or through the appetizers....whatever comes first.
