Actually, as a kid I had that job for a while. I was paid to stand at the entrance to the theater of certain movies with a clicker and count off the number of people entering and exiting up to twenty minutes after the start of the show, after which I was free to watch the movie. It paid a little more than popcorn and a soda 😂
