I understand flowers are hard to come by - at least over here they are. And you only have one mom. You can forego pizza and sleeping for ONE DAY.
I miss my mom with a purple-blue passion. She died less than two days in her sleep right after her last Mother's Day (1984). I was there f0r it, and I was glad.

Mother's Day was about 2 months ago.

@MaryJanine Strange system. Mother's Day doesn't seem to be centred around another special occasion at all, whereas Father's Day is not very definitely fixed either. I wouldn't like to live with a system like that, I prefer everything to be fixed and definite.

@HairbrushDiva I think Easter changes every year too. I can’t figure that one out. It’s usually in April but I remember a few years it was in March.

@Faroutcat It does, but Mother's Day changes with it to keep in with the tradition of it being three weeks before Easter. It appears to be three weeks before Whit on your side of the pond. I suppose that does make sense if Father's Day is three weeks after Whit, but that also varies according to what you said.
