Could you go over to my mom’s house on Mother’s Day so I don’t have to?

Maybe you should pick out some flowers and a nice card before you go. This way I can just stay home, eat pizza, and take a nap.

Mother's Day was about 2 months ago.

@HairbrushDiva Maybe it was where you live. In America, it is tomorrow.

@MaryJanine Oh. I forgot about that. How do they decide what date to have it there? In the UK it's always three weeks before Easter.

@HairbrushDiva If I remember it correctly, Mother's Day is usually the second Sunday in May, and Father's Day is the second or third Sunday in June.

@MaryJanine Strange system. Mother's Day doesn't seem to be centred around another special occasion at all, whereas Father's Day is not very definitely fixed either. I wouldn't like to live with a system like that, I prefer everything to be fixed and definite.

@HairbrushDiva I think Easter changes every year too. I can’t figure that one out. It’s usually in April but I remember a few years it was in March.

@Faroutcat It does, but Mother's Day changes with it to keep in with the tradition of it being three weeks before Easter. It appears to be three weeks before Whit on your side of the pond. I suppose that does make sense if Father's Day is three weeks after Whit, but that also varies according to what you said.
