Society has built a mentality that the skinnier is the better. Its really sad as it has major implications for both physical and mental health for just not girls and women but for all genders. The media also does not help. Yes being morbidly obese does increase risks for various chronic diseases and overall well being however trying to change who one is has its negative implications.

Same goes for men. It’s not just a gender thing. People respond to thinner more physically fit people, I’m not saying skinny, I’m saying more physically fit. Because it reflects well on their personality. They’re discipline their focus their commitment. It reflects well on their body. I get it and I understand it. And I have work to do :-

I’ve been both and from experience I’m treated the same.

I noticed when I got bigger I didn't get NEAR as much attention/catcalling as I did when I was slim.
....it's actually really nice. I like not being sexually harassed wherever I go. My fat is like a suit of armor against sexual harassment. How depressing is that lol.
I'm married anyhow and my husband likes big girls so it ended up working out just fine. HAHA

Because they see us as desperate, a charity case. We don’t fit the norm of what they jack off to on the internet.

@RachelLia2003 First of all your terminology is incorrect. Second, BMI or originally referred to the Quetlet Index which was first identified in the 1800s by a French researcher in body composition has its limitations. A BMI with no other data of 25 is misleading on the surface. In fact a BMI below 30 is not in the obesity category. Also, BMI does not account for muscle mass thus a well trained athlete could easily have a BMI of 29 and be in excellent condition vs one who has a BMI of 24 and be in serious condition. I will agree obesity is a health issue in the US today however a challenge to tackle with the changes society and culture have taken.
