@RachelLia2003 "Fat" is ambiguous. Morbid obesity is unhealthy. Over weight increases the risk of multiple chronic and acute conditions. However, careful to be judgemental. Weight management is extremely complex and although its easy to say just loose weight for some its easy others its a battle. The pressure on young girls and women to be skinny and loose weight is actually imo more dangerous than being a bit heavy. Eating disorders and disordered eating contribute to a host of serious health problems including death. The wrong thing to do is body shame someone. If you disagree read the scientific literature and learn something.

@Panda5689 bmi over 25 is fat

@RachelLia2003 First of all your terminology is incorrect. Second, BMI or originally referred to the Quetlet Index which was first identified in the 1800s by a French researcher in body composition has its limitations. A BMI with no other data of 25 is misleading on the surface. In fact a BMI below 30 is not in the obesity category. Also, BMI does not account for muscle mass thus a well trained athlete could easily have a BMI of 29 and be in excellent condition vs one who has a BMI of 24 and be in serious condition. I will agree obesity is a health issue in the US today however a challenge to tackle with the changes society and culture have taken.
