I liked how the leveling changed in Oblivion. Having to physically write down how many skill levels per level up was exhausting. Had to have exactly 10 of three different skill sets inside the stat increases so you could level perfectly. Not to mention insuring your main skills that had higher initial levels didnt allow you to level up before you had at least ten. It was nice not having to do that. Yeah I've played Skyrim so much, the repeating voice actors voices annoy me now lol.

I played Oblivion when it was first out. I definitely think they made some things a little easier, like not having to carefully plan out your skill gains per level. Oblivion remastered is good, but it's definitely showing its age compared to Skyrim.
If you love Skyrim, I'd say give it a shot. But it is definitely a predecessor and simpler in a lot of ways. Except spellcraft and enchanting. Those are actually more advanced.
If on the fence, wait for a sale.

I played most of TES games. Daggerfall is hands down the best then Morrowind. Skyrim and Oblivion are good games but lost a lot of the early character the games had.
The new Oblivion remake is so so. It doesn’t really add anything to the series for me. It looks prettier but that is it.

I've played most of the TES games but I was always a bigger fan of other rpg styles (LOOOVE BG3). I intend to play the Oblivion remaster at some point but am deep into Cyberpunk 2077 since it got patched up to teh point of playability.
You having fun with it?

@CountScrofula I haven't played Skyrim in years but it's still my favorite game. Tried Oblivion Remastered, I'm enjoying it so far but it still doesn't beat Skyrim for me. Cyberpunk 2077 is also fun!! Haven't tried BG3 yet tho..

@ariannasly Skyrim is pretty magical its hard to find a single-player game people are still religiously playing 14 years after it came out.
BG3 is the best "classic" crpg ever made. I can't get over how goddamn brilliantly written it is, how the game system works so well, etc. definitely throw it on the to-play list.

I play/mod Skyrim. I couldn't bring myself to play Oblivion again. It looked like that used Fallout's weather scheme and shaders for the remaster. Which for me wasn't a selling point as I recall Oblivion being a much more vibrantly colorful game.

I don't but my son plays Skyrim. He's been playing that for years. It looks like a beautiful game.

I played Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. They're all good but Oblivion is my favourite.
I have not played the remaster. I don't have the time anymore

Oblivion is one of my favorite games of all time i liked the remaster it was just way to easy especially to get all the achievments and trophies in it
Allelse · 36-40, M
Ot was good fun, I managed to get it running on my laptop. I had so many mods going when I played the original Oblivion.

Skyrim is the only of those games I ever finished. But I've played a lot of Morrowind and Oblivion too. Oblivion was the first of the TES games I ever played and I spent probably the most hours in it.
But nowadays I don't really have the patience anymore for those types of games. If I ever pick it up again I'll play the original game because modding it heavily is it's own fun.

I pretty much did all the side quest stuff in Oblivion but never bothered with the main quest.
I wouldn’t touch the remake.

@ViciDraco I usually finish the main quests. But I didn’t like Oblivion’s all that much. Felt boring. Go through a portal. All of a sudden feels like a ripoff of doom. Which makes sense why they acquired Doom later on, maybe to justify it retroactively somewhat. But I just found it unappealing and lame.

I play Skyrim and can never go back to playing oblivion 🤷🏻♂ or the elder scrolls online for that matter
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
I was obsessed with both.
Sadly, I need a new gaming rig to play Remastered.
