USPS: least expensive, and most likely to actually get the parcel to its intended destination
TangledUpInBlue · F
@thisguy20 thank you
The USPS has had the fewest problems per piece of mail of any of the carriers.
UPS, FedEx, DHL have ALL delivered packages for me to neighbors.
Yes, I have
• a mailbox at the end of my driveway, with the number clearly on it;
• the number is also on the house;
• an in-sequence number (no out-of-sequence numbers);
• my number is on the appropriate side of the street.
The other neighbors who have gotten my packages lack
• my address;
• (thus) my house number on their mailboxes;
• (and thus) my house number on their houses;
• being on the appropriate side of the street.

The post office. This retired postal worker knows that is something is wrapped properly with a valid address it will get there in a timely manner.

Definitely not the post office. I work in procurement as a mail clerk and I understand the meaning of the phrase "going postal" all too well.
Post office or UPS. Usually post office because I want to keep supporting them.

I think we have rather different ideas of shipping companies!
TangledUpInBlue · F
@wetncthru you’ve lost me.

@TangledUpInBlue Cargoes are carried around the world by sea ... on ships.
The industry name for the Owners/Operators of individual, or fleets, of merchant vessels is "shipping companies".
They were so called long before parcel couriers were even invented!

Cunard. Fantastic.

I always think of how impressed people are when, instead of some little truck, a person receiving a package from me has a hug3 ocean liner come down their street, @TangledUpInBlue...! 😉🤣🤣🤣
