@Souls I also have natural gas which is in the $90 dollar range so guess it works out about the same.

I don't what a full tank's worth would cost, but from low to full is now likely well over £30. Hard to say because it's a modified vehicle with a smaller than standard petrol tank, and a very inaccurate gauge as one result. The other result being less capacity anyway.
Not sure what the cost wil be but I am making a round-trip of about 400 miles or so soon, and need try to avoid refuelling on the motorways.(Their service-area prices are significantly higher than in the filling-stations on the ordinary roads, and have always been so even when oil prices are fairly stable.)

I filled it up this week €143, that is approx. $167 for a normal Ford Mondeo mk4. Not sure what the US equivalent is for that

Today the cost of diesel at the outlet I normally use near my work is A$3.169 per litre, so to full my 4wd's main tank (90 litres) is about a A$300 purchase.
My car takes 98 petrol and it's price today at the same outlet is A$2.439 per litre. The car takes 55 litres, so a full fill is A$135.
If the only driving I do is fo/from work (60 km round trip) I get close to 800 km out of the 90 L in the 4wd and I normally work 3 to 5 shifts a week, so a full main tank is good for almost 3 weeks. The second tank holds 50 L, so that gives a range with normal driving of around 1250 km with 140 L of diesel.
With the car, I allow for up to 7 round trips to/from work (540 km) before filling up if just driving it to/from work, so almost 2 weeks.
I alternate between the two so I can take one out of service for any repairs/maintenance/etc. required.
To/from work is not highway driving - it's basically all suburban area for the 30 km each way. It can take me as little as 30 min between midnight and 4 am, or as much as 75 minutes during peak traffic times on weekdays or weekends. I allow a standard 1 hour travel time each way.
Note the prices above are not 'true' as the fed gov temporarily halved the fuel excise tax for 3 months (so far) from A$0.52 down to A$0.26 per litre, so that also reduces the GST (fuel is double-taxed) by a couple of cents. That makes the true price if full tax still applied close to A$3.50 per litre for diesel and close to $2.70 per litre for 98 petrol.

Almost bought diesel at 7.20 but found a station at 6.85 a little further down the road. 238.00 bucks for diesel and that was with a quarter tank in each tank. Filled up my gas powered truck yesterday at 4.89 a gallon. It was only 120 bucks
