Scary to drive in; and it has a Stephen King vibe to it, definitely!
I set off walking one night at midnight in pea soup fog. 10 ft visibility.
The girl on a veranda I past said the same thing: "Holy, this is straight outta Silent Hill."
I laughed, but never found it creepy. It was like exploring another realm, and all of it to yourself. Still a great memory.

When the mist lifted I was above the clouds, looking at the snow covered high peaks of the Sierra Nevada. I pulled over in a Transport Cafe and ordered a cafe con leche.

@AngelUnforgiven It was at the time, as I’d spent the previous night in a cheap hostel . I heard monotonous repetitive music all night long. It turned out to be old men gambling, putting their bets on!
