I never want to change anyones opinions. I want them to understand mine just the way I want to understand theirs. And leave it to that.

Firstly, I'll try to understand what they are trying to say. Then I'll try to explain my point of view.
As long as they respect my opinion, it's okay to have different views
We can agree to disagree

I never try and change peoples minds. All I do give give them another way of looking at it. It is up to them to decide what to do with what I have told them.

It really depends what the subject is.
Many folk hold staunch beliefs on subjects , that when you question them, it turns out they have a point of view but no substance to support it.
Two most obvious examples are religion and abortion.
It's far harder to understand somebody's p/o/v if they allow no room for discussion or understanding.

People express points of view that I disagree with all the time and I usually will ignore them. I'm not here to argue with people. But if someone challenges something I said, I normally will respond to them, not to try to change their mind (which rarely happens), but to explain my position further and to point out what I think is wrong with what they said.
I'll try it once..very casually to understand whether they're open to ideas that contradict their beliefs.
If they aren't, I'll just move on.

I love to hear different points of view and to give my slant on it

Depends. If they are outright ignorant, or just don't know any better, but are willing to learn. If it's some arrogant person looking for an argument, I wouldn't give them what they want.

Honestly, it depends. I may ask questions to see if there's a perspective they haven't considered, if I can see no logic in their positions. If they can come up with some, I'll leave them alone. If they become abusive, I'll also leave them alone, on that and all other topics.
Depends. If their point of view is one that is outdated or because they're conformist asswipes, who because they have no brain of their own they need to follow the pack then I don't try to get them to my side. I just show them how incredibly stupid they sound and are.
