If you disagree with someone else's point of view, do you try to reason with them in order to change their perspective or leave it to that?

It really depends what the subject is.
Many folk hold staunch beliefs on subjects , that when you question them, it turns out they have a point of view but no substance to support it.

Two most obvious examples are religion and abortion.
It's far harder to understand somebody's p/o/v if they allow no room for discussion or understanding.
