To be clear, I wasn’t calling 30 old. I’m just not happy that I haven’t progressed further in life PRIOR to being 30. If I had a lucrative career and a spouse and kids whom I adore and whatnot then I’d be pretty chillin’ about turning 30

@Jayciedubb Please identify these resources you speak of. America is a net importer of just about everything but food and oil in terms of real production these days. There edge on military hardware is also slipping away as we speak..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman natural resources. Any resources we import are cheaper or in order to bolster the economies of certain countries in order to "spread democracy." We are perfectly capable of being a completely self sufficient nation.
I think AI is going to enforce the boundaries created by big business and render the borders created by nations as ceremonial only. The world we know is becoming a memory.
The military you refer to will have no purpose. The only reason it is what its become is because those are the only manufacturing jobs that didn't get shipped overseas .

@Jayciedubb OK. Well reasoned out. But you have a mix of new and old thinking with America being on the winning end of both. And that just isnt going to happen. The one statement I dispute is that America buys anything "to spread democracy and bolster economies. America buys things because it is cheaper. Either in a direct line, like Chinese parts for US made cars. Or by offsets, like making a deal to buy oil in exchange for being able to sell grain or military hardware.
I agree that AI will change a lot. But right now we cant say what. It looks to me like cracks are appearing in the US effort, because , as usual, the short term profit just cant be seen. The Chinese can afford to throw more money at it for longer, without a return, due to govt support. Thats how BYD got a stranglehold on the market. And had to be embargoed out in America. That just cant go on forever in the US. American main GDP these days is finance. And thats supported by debt and the reserve currency, both od which as about to bite America on the bum..😷

It helps when you realize that it's happening to everyone. We're all aging everyday. As bad or sad as it is getting older, it beats the alternative, doesn't it? If it doesn't, i hope i don't find out about it for a looong time
Here's another depressing fact. Since your 30s represent one quarter of your life to that point of reaching 40, and you're 20s represented 1/3 of your life up to you 30s, since a quarter is smaller than a third, your 30s go by way faster in comparison. 40s=⅕, 50s=⅙ and so on.
I'm only telling you so you'll make the most of it while you have the opportunity
