Personally I couldn't care less about what people believe in tbh. So long as THEIR belief does not interfere with MY life/country/politics.

I am glad you are proud of your Indigenous heritage and spirituality! And yes, a lot of argumentative atheists seem to assume that "God" means some old-man-in-the-sky that only the most naive Christians actually believe in. To me, a lot of how we express ourselves about what is really real, is symbolic or metaphorical. I think often atheists and people of faith would actually find they agree completely if they weren't each insisting on their own language and symbols.

And Native American cultures are not alone in those concepts. A lot of the New Age spiritual movements are also built on the concept that God is energy and within all of us, and it is up to us to find it and channel it.

When I was a conservative Christian, I used to think men like Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris were dangerous for what they believed about religion. Now that I am an Exvangelical, I think that what they believe is way more dangerous because they refuse to challenge their cultural assumptions as straight, white, cis men.
