Well if you have really thought this through. The good and the bad.
Once a baby arrives, your life is no longer yours for years to come.
Yeah as they get older they are less time consuming but the financial hits you take are worse.
Plus you get to fight the school system all over again.
My opinion is that 40 is no age to be having a baby. Our energy level and tolerance for BS both drop pretty fast.
Plus if you are doing artificial insemination, it is not like there will be any father around to help with raising nor paying for it.

Why not have it the usual way? Can I help?

@CestManan Impregnate? Compliments on your imagination. That wasn't said explicitly. You concluded that. It could have been an offer to donate.
It was a catch and you fell for it. But you won't find that funny. Humor and imagination are God gifts that might or might not come as a package. 😃😃

@WandererTony One, it's harder for a single-parent adoption to get approved; two, it's expensive; three, i prefer not to involve the State in personal affairs; four, many children in the system have emotional and physical needs that a two-parent family would be better-equipped to handle (disabilities, FAS, trauma, mental illness, a history of sexual or physical abuse and the associated trauma-adapted behaviors, etc); five, this is hard for Americans to understand but a lot of cultures are not accepting of adoptions, adoptions are usually within families or a secret; six, you shouldn't do it if you're unsure or don't feel ready or equipped for the role.

@blindbob All points are very valid. Nice to talk to someone who has thought it all out in depth. Thanks for sparing the time. I had started lightheartedly, but it turned out to be an enlightening conversation.

Isn’t that the way all babies are made? It’s the donation method that varies.

By Natural or Artificial Insemination ?

@in10RjFox this is according to my endocrinologist who actually took the time pull up charts and stats to educate me on the numbers. just as the quality of eggs deteriorates with age so too does sperm's. this does not mean that ALL sperm or eggs will be poor quality; it just means the likelihood of having a healthy baby starts to decline. i'm not just talking about genetic mutations or disabilities, even just having a viable pregnancy. miscarriages go up dramatically.

You want me to donate my sperm to you?
thewindupbirdchronicles · 46-50, M
I'm going to ask the obvious question, Bob?

@thewindupbirdchronicles ask away.
