I'm turning 40 next year and I'm thinking about having a baby via sperm donation. Thoughts?

@blindbob but it could be that of a lunatic ..😀

@in10RjFox yeah, that is definitely something i think about and it's concerning. if i had a friend i trusted, i would ask him, but i think it's messy if you're not in a relationship with him or if he's in already in a relationship.

@blindbob yes.. natural insemination is much better as there is emotional connection.. and you can ensure that the person is HIV free etc.. Old men are good candidates too as you may gain a monthly allowance and share from their estate. Many rich old men die without heir..

@in10RjFox older sperm is actually poorer quality, so it would seem that older eggs and older sperm would not be ideal.

@blindbob wrong notion. Older sperm is the one not ejaculated for long .. and it even grows moustache.. that does not mean older men produce older sperms. Ruport Murdoch, Alec Baldwin and many more have proved it.

@in10RjFox this is according to my endocrinologist who actually took the time pull up charts and stats to educate me on the numbers. just as the quality of eggs deteriorates with age so too does sperm's. this does not mean that ALL sperm or eggs will be poor quality; it just means the likelihood of having a healthy baby starts to decline. i'm not just talking about genetic mutations or disabilities, even just having a viable pregnancy. miscarriages go up dramatically.

@blindbob Like the famous quote
Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration
Sperm is just 1% and 99% is the woman .. So your age factor matters more than that of the male..
