What is the significance of 3:00 AM?

I read somewhere that it is the "witching hour", when the devil and his henchmen are at their strongest, and if you wake up at this hour, somebody may be watching you.

My understanding is it's the time when people wake up full of anxiety and fear. In mythology, it's the hour when evil things are afoot.

My guess would be it's when a dream or a noise wakes you. In the days when most were farmers and electric lights didn't exist, it was midnight.
Sorry. I'll stop staring:(

When I am off from work I wake at 3am almost every night. (I work over nights 4 days a week) Started waking up at 3am ever since I saw amityville horror in college 30 years ago.

I am not sure of all the superstition around that time, however I do wake up from time to time then and my thoughts are always troubled.

There WAS that horrible "3 AM" song back in 1998?

Folks, if this comment got downvoted because I reminded you of that horrid song, I will understand. 😟

It's just a myth that some believe.

that used to be the time the old people died
RedBaron · M
@Ingwe Unless, of course, they didn't.
Ingwe · F
@RedBaron they usually did we could set our watches to it

If you believe that nonsense, there's a bridge about 3 miles from my house in Brooklyn that I can sell you.
Sometimes I’m not even in bed yet. The way I was raised, as long as I was home and not out partying at that hour, I was relatively safe. 😅

@swirlie then you get back to bed and are like, "Now what was I dreaming about?"
