So sad :(

I hear that Paschar of EP has gone that way too.
Sunnykel76 · 46-50, F
@Nimbus that makes me sad to hear. He was always very kind to me and a gentleman.
Nimbus · M
@Sunnykel76 Indeed.
I never heard him say a bad word about anyone or anything.
Nimbus · M
@Oberon1 Amen.

Online friends ARE real friends.
And we miss them when they disappear for whatever reason.
Sorry to hear about your friend Bree.
SW-User
@BridgeOvertroubledWaters Often, people online touch our hearts and it's no different than daily life. And yes, we miss those who disappear.
@SW-User thanks for the best answer

Well deserved best answer
It was this month last year that I found out someone whom I was very fond of here (since EP in 2010) had passed away. I was devastated. Still am. I’ll occasionally come upon an old comment of his and miss him all over again. The friendships we make here are real.
Condolences on the loss of your friend. 😞
Two of my friends here definitely died.Not a surprise with either.
But if someone you chat with regularly decides to leave it is nice to know.
I’m fairly certain someone has just left unannounced.And no way of finding out if they are okay.
I do take the attitude everyone is going to disappear....it is the Internet.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales Sometimes these things can happen despite the feelings of the other person who may even feel bad and hope that you do not think they just bailed on you. I had someone I was very fond of and we even exchanged Christmas cards. She was [is; I hope she still draws breath] a wonderful person.

It was just one of those things where my decision to leave it a day or a week turned into much longer because then my window closed due to having to move several times. Plus, with old handles/contact details etc forgotten I wonder if I will ever get back in touch with this person. I hope they remember me as fondly as I remember them, because we really opened up. I have one address which I am going to send something to and if she isn't there then she isn't there. I just don't want someone - a true friend - to think that I could have ever bailed on them.

I hope you are able to remain in touch with your friend. It isn't always quite in their hands, unfortunately.
Oberon1 · 61-69, M
Windsylph will be with us always.
@Oberon1

I carry her within my heart... and thank you... I will be honored if only a bit I was like her .. 🤗🤗
Oberon1 · 61-69, M
🌹@Soossie Sometimes I think you are windsylph. You share the same energy. I love you.
@Oberon1

Love you too dear Oberon, my amazing friend.. 🤗🤗
akindheart · 61-69, F
It happened to me this week too. I lost a dear friend to covid. she had cancer 4 times, got a blood infection and then covid. she passed last month but i just found out this week. i am broken hearted
bowman81 · M
@akindheart Don't be too hard on the husband. It takes a while to get your head on straight after losing a loved one like that. It has been almost a year for me and I am still finding things that I should have and need to do. The first couple of weeks are just a blur.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@bowman81 fair enough and smart advice. hugs to one of my bestest buddies.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@bowman81 Four years and four months for me. Easier now than it was but still I think of her every day. In the first weeks it was hard to do anything more than the bare minimum.
bowman81 · M
Real connections are made here and online. We share stories, and hopes and aspirations. We laugh, complain, and even argue.
The loss is real and we grieve.

It is a new kind of connection for me, and a different type of grieving. I'm left not knowing quite what to do. There is no funeral to attend, nor memorial service. Just quiet memories. Hopefully a smile or two thinking about them. The connections we make, on line or in real life, enrich our lives. I'm thankful for all of them.
SW-User
@bowman81 We have to learn to say goodbye in different ways. I'm not sure I have found a way that works for me yet.
Where many only see accounts, I see potential friends and it's hard when they are no longer around.
I had a good friend here , we chatted for over a year , he was about fifteen years older than me. Suddenly he just disappeared. About two years ago.
I often wonder if he's still alive.
I'm sorry to hear this. It seems like many here have lost someone who they cared about recently, myself included 😔.
Trippin · F
So sorry to hear... Sendin" you a love an a big hug...❤️🤗
SW-User
@Trippin Thank you, Trippin. This is the second time someone has gone missing and I just knew it wasn't of their own accord.
So hard to deal with and my heart just really hurts.
Trippin · F
@SW-User Awww... Now mine does for you. Only those left behind need feel pain. Keep you in my prayers 🙏

So sad. Sometimes we just can't know what really happened
I am so sorry for your loss. Sometimes our internet friends are our best friends. If I passed I don't know if anyone would be contacted or not. I don't have any email address for anyone on here but this page is always open and I don't know if anyone would use this page or not.🌹
SW-User
@mondayschild2 Thank you.
(((HUGS)))
RubySoo · 56-60, F
Im so sorry to hear about your friend. I have lost many online friends over the years, and sadly, with a few of them, their online pals did not get to know for a long time after their passing. There are a couple who fell off the grid and i guess i'll never know if they have passed. X
SW-User
@RubySoo It's hard not knowing... and when we do find out... heart breaking. I find it amazing that some have family who is willing to take the time to let others know.
SW-User
I'm so sorry for your loss my friend!!🤗🦋
Heartlander · 80-89, M
It helps me to think of someone I know as being a part of me and me being a part of them, and that continues whether they are living or deceased. It's like I keep them alive in my heart and mentally brain-chat with them. If it's someone I have known well, I already know how they would have responded. One's spirit doesn't die or vanish.
FoolishLuna · 56-60, F
Yes I had a friend die too. It was weird his child reached out to me to tell me and it was on my late mother’s b Day. Now that day reminds me of two special souls🙏
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
Online people are real people.
Sorry about your loss🥀
Piper · 61-69, F
There have been some people I've come to know online and feel a connection with, that I heard had died. On this site there was one in particular, that I felt great sadness about. Although he was a friend of mine, I did not know him well.

Sorry to hear about your friend.
SW-User
@Piper Thank you.
SW-User
Sorry about your friend. I've been online at various social networking sites since 1997. I've seen people come and go, and it doesn't get on my nerves now. There were a few folks I missed briefly, but I figure it's all for the best in the end.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
I haven’t been on nearly as long as you but I can understand the nonchalant attitude. People come and go. That’s why I don’t get close to people.@SW-User
Sorry for your loss 😔

Online friends could be real, depending on how much trust you’ve developed through regular interactions.

Those that touched our hearts,,, those that we allowed to be part of our lives will never be forgotten.
Im so sorry for your loss...

Online friendship and friends are as important and as valuable as friends in our real lives...

I have lost a few online friends ... I cried my heart out for those losses...
chuck7882 · 61-69, M
This is why people who leave here often post a good bye. Some think they are being too dramatic, but often they are just letting their friends know they are ok
SW-User
@chuck7882 I see some are gone. Maybe using new accounts... but the accounts connected are either deleted or just doing nothing now.
The person who created the artwork that shapes my very existence seems to have died. They contracted COVID-19 this past November from being exposed to unvaccinated persons at work.

Imagine if their coworkers had had even the slightest bit of consideration for others. They would still be among us, drawing amazing artwork.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@SW-User Yeah so true. It seems to be the way of the world these days.

Well again, I am sorry this person upset you. It wasn't right.

Try to forget it and have a good weekend!
SW-User
@SumKindaMunster Thank you.
I appreciate your thoughts.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. :)
carpediem · 61-69, M
@SumKindaMunster Loads of people with the same view. They can’t think for themselves.
Beautywithin · 36-40, F
Sorry to hear! Some online friends are better than the ones we have in reality
Lacemaker · 41-45, F
Sorry to hear that. It's a hard thing to get your head around 🌹
SW-User
@Lacemaker Thank you...and yes it is. I kept hoping to hear a different reason for the absence.

@SW-User Thank you.

That's really sad, when they disappear. And sometimes you can't know what happened.. I'm feeling that way now and I hope they're ok.. Because it's unusual that they vanish for so many months... 😐
SW-User
@SW-User I hope all works out and I hope they're ok too. ❤️
Lost a Facebook friend this last spring. Similar story...she went dark for a few weeks, and then we got the message she passed. It's painful.
SW-User
@BizSuitStacy Yes, it's hard to deal with.
scorpiolovedeep · 46-50, M
I would not take anybody for granted ..

Every person either adds value to you or teaches you a lesson .. try not to see them with grudge though
pdockal · 56-60, M
I don't but it's inevitable that they disappear as life changes for them
Some are easy to get over but others do hurt
masterofyou · 70-79, M
Sorry you lost a friend, but they are still with you in your heart and soul...
SW-User
@masterofyou That is very true. Thank you.

May I ask who the person was ? Sometimes that’s how we all find out about a loss here, someone is notified. 🥺
SW-User
@bijouxbroussard If it were someone here, I'd let you all know. He's from a different site and touched many hearts with his kind ways.
