Online friends gone missing... you try to get in touch and...nothing. Later, email saying friend died....
People almost always assume another has just left and that's it. But...some people, you just know they wouldn't do that to you and others... Today, I got an email that a missing friend passed away. There are so many people that will feel this and miss him so very much. Try not to take your online friends for granted.

Sorry about your friend. I've been online at various social networking sites since 1997. I've seen people come and go, and it doesn't get on my nerves now. There were a few folks I missed briefly, but I figure it's all for the best in the end.
I haven’t been on nearly as long as you but I can understand the nonchalant attitude. People come and go. That’s why I don’t get close to people.@SW-User
