Come on, Andrew... be fair here... half the groups still aren't integrated over - like the Dutch groups, for example. Do I have to only speak Dutch in PM until that happens and have my other friends miss out, or do I post "Friends only", like some dirty little secret???

It's not really fair to be laying down the law at a time when half the site isn't even usable right now.

I had a thought about this yesterday.

You know how EP was designed with people with social and related disabilities in mind....well this occurred to me :

If someone has a physical mobility issue with their motor skills , say, cerebral palsy ....all these steps to post now make it hard for them .

I respect your intent to help us define a posts intent, but does this process follow the original concept of this sites whole reason for being created in the first place ?


I understand that most users are able bodied, but please don't forget the ethos of what makes this place great.

This isn't a complaint , just a mental meandering.


Just remember this place was for those that have no physical place to be social....don't pander to the wants of the majority, remember the needs of the minority it was made for.

Here's an idea: Maybe, just maybe you should start asking yourself "why aren't people posting in the right categories?" and "is there something we've missed or aren't doing well enough that spur people to unintentionally, or even intentionally, post in the wrong groups?"

You talk about how misgrouping posts are affecting other users, yet you have been implementing changes that a lot of people have disliked. Your changes aren't small and are "affecting other users" too. I can assure you that some of those posts being placed in the wrong groups are done so as a silent protest to a terrible system that has been forced upon them, and that they feel that - short of leaving the site - it is one of the very few recourses they have to get your attention because they feel you aren't listening to a significant slice of your userbase.

Basically, if they try to give constructive criticism they either get ignored, you get aggressively defensive about your change, or labeling those user as "just being negative". Has it occurred to you that maybe that is why some of them are rebelling? As weird as it may sound to you, maybe some of them do it because they care about the site and find the changes you've made to ultimately be destructive to a site they really want to stay at, and that is the only way they feel they can get your eyes open anymore?

Of course, it's a privately owned site, you can do whatever you want. If you want harsh rules and terrible systems, that's your call. Regardless of your path from here, I hope at least you'll wake up and start understanding your users and why some act like they do.

I do try to give all updates a chance but I gotta say I did like the specific groups. They were fun.

I just want my Kimchi group back. People need to learn how wonderful this food is
