🎲 ❓ Miscellaneous / Random for Uncategorized Posts 🔀 💡

If you'd like to post on Similar Worlds, without bothering to place your post in an appropriate section,
or, if you simply don't know how you should categorize your post,

Did you know... 💡🤔
there is a "Random" Post Type ❓ 🤷‍♂️

as well as the Groups: "Miscellaneous" & "Random" 🎲 ?

(however, correctly placing your post helps other users to find content they might be interested in)

Please note that Intentional Spamming/Miscategorization of posts, is against the TOS,
and is disrespectful to the rest of the SW community, who may have interest in seeing relevant content in the groups they are subscribed to.

All users, kindly be considerate to others.

Affecting other user's usage and enjoyment of this site, by intentionally making off-topic posts in the Groups others are utilizing, isn't the right thing to do.

You can easily post on SW at any time you want, by simply using the already provided
[ Miscellaneous / Uncategorized / Random ] labeling,
IF you don't wish to correctly categorize your post.

Come on, Andrew... be fair here... half the groups still aren't integrated over - like the Dutch groups, for example. Do I have to only speak Dutch in PM until that happens and have my other friends miss out, or do I post "Friends only", like some dirty little secret???

It's not really fair to be laying down the law at a time when half the site isn't even usable right now.

There are over 1 Million Groups that were originally imported directly from EP.
It takes a very long time, to Manually sort through, re-organize and Merge, that many groups.

Some suggestions:

1) You could consider using the already available "Language" Category, for Languages:

2) You could consider using Miscellaneous or Random categories, for any posts you don't wish to categorize:

https://similarworlds.com/random-subjects

3) You can also make a post/request, asking staff for expediting reinstatement of particular groups you and others believe are most urgent to

We have already begin Consolidating some other Language groups, today, which are again available:

It takes time and a lot of work, to cover each and every possible topic.

It doesn't help the community, to have all of these groups fragmented.

We are simply attempting to Merge/Consolidate related topics together, so that users can find more of the content they are interested in, and in the same, get more relevant and increased feedback and interactions.

@Andrew The only two groups that I have been asking for ever since the update are "I collect coins" and "I am learning Dutch".

Those are the two that I am usually more active in and I feel lost without them.

I appreciate that it's going to take time to get to them all... that's why I only asked for two. As far as I am concerned, I won't be sorry to see the end of some of the gross groups that are out there, either.

I appreciate the work that has gone into the update and the fact that we are left with some places to post - but, I worry that cracking the whip on rules now isn't going to calm us down all that much.

We're still trying to find our way around the updated site and it's going to take time and patience for us to learn everything again - particularly while more groups are gradually coming back online and being rediscovered by us, too.

@Andrew en @Nuno Dankuwel for giving me my Dutch group back... now I don't have to worry so much about getting banned for posting in Dutch as I was... 🙂
