You either have to go back in time 100 years or forward 100 years to live out the rest of your life

You will never be able to go back, which do you chose? Living in the past or future? Why?
BlueVeins · 22-25
Definitely forwards, if I had to live without modern sanitation, plumbing, medicine, and information tech I'd probably jump off something tall to avoid it. If I go 100 years into the future, life will probably be better in most if not all ways. I'd probably skip 100 years ahead if the alternative was staying in the present.
no brainer, toilet paper and tampons

Forward, definitely. I'd rather stay on the side of medicine, sanitation and technological advancement. Going back 100 years would be rough 😦
@SW-User yeah....but they had cocaine toothpaste and opium tea parties 😁

Why would I go back and live through ww2 when I could go forward and skip ww3 😌 but probably in 2120 we’ll be in the middle of ww6 and fighting the 453rd wave of covid 👀
Forward because there should be a cure for Muscular Dystrophy by then. And because I like technology.

Hmmm past is more of a sure thing... Like you know what's there based off history, you can literally research everything then plan the perfect life for yourself.. Instant millionaire etc.. You could advance technology by bringing books with you etc........... 🤔 But at the same time because it's so certain you're left with less to be in wonder of............

🤔 I'd choose the future...... Just because there's something I want to see..

I'd choose the future, I am an optimist, I like to think we might have improved, resolved all kinds of problems etc.. Whereas while going backwards might seem like a simpler and less stressful option, we do have to remember that medical advances were relatively poor, mental health received almost no attention, and there were no gadgets!
Peapod · 61-69, F
I would choose to go forward. I would have no desire to be in a place with no antibiotics. Women certainly had few rights and I can't imagine a world where I was second class just for my gender. I also cannot imagine living through the Great Depression and the terror of WWII.

I'll take the future. There's a better chance of spaceflight being common for me to explore.
luvnsunshine · 22-25, F
@FaeLuna I would love to travel in space, think I'd buy a ticket along with you!
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@luvnsunshine Sounds like a date then!
luvnsunshine · 22-25, F
@FaeLuna woohoo!! 😊😊😊😊
Well, in the future, you could verify your identity and time traveling ability. That would be fun. And I could meet my great-great-great grandkids, maybe.

In the past, you know what to expect and you can be anonymous. 1920 is ok, have to be careful 19 years later though :)
Ferric67 · M
1920 is post WWI and pre Great Depression and WWII. Not much there.
2120 might be a bit more of an unknown worth gambling on.
forty7seventy4 · 46-50, F
While I would be curious about the future, the unknown tends to scare me.
I would choose going back 100 years.
100 years in the past. I have just enough working knowledge to turn a tidy profit.

100 years forward. 100 years back and I'd be working on a mine, with not long to live.
Back, easily!! With all the info I have, life would be cake.
The past because i like horses and nature
Degbeme · 70-79, M
Neither. My grandson is in the here and now. 🤗
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
Future. Too many spoilers in the past.
