@Coralmist Is it shallow to want to be with someone that takes and interest in their own appearance and health? If someone is fit, wont they be more active and healthy? Perhaps I am shallow. I do not find men with a big belly and 3 chins attractive or sexy. I stay fit because I hold my self to the same standards. My husband does the same. We want to be around a long time for each other and be able to enjoy life with our kids and hopefully grandchildren some day .

@TexChik No it's great to want to be healthy and fit!! I think it's awesome you spend time on yourself 🌸 What I mean is many men, not all, are basing dating a woman on looks ALONE..if one is a certain type of fit..thin or toned. And they've even said too they have looked for a partner based FIRSTLY on that. I like a toned guy, but If I'm talking to a guy who is 30 lbs overweight but is so funny or really down to earth, that equals the same attractiveness to me. I just don't want a guy to base talking or hanging out with me on if I'm attractive 'enough'..you know what I mean?

@Coralmist In the romance or even friendship scene, there are just certain things men don't deal with and things women don't deal with.

The reason men care what others think - we know that women have the final say when it comes to sex or dating. A woman can find either one relatively easy. Men have to work for it. If a man is seen dating a woman who is, ummm, sub-par, it ruins his future chances for dating decent women.
A woman though can sleep with or date criminals and assholes but still have a perfect chance at dating good men.

That is why men worry what others will think.

@CestManan A new woman that a man night be interested in, wouldn't know what his previous ex looked like..(to know if she was a knockout or not). So really if two people did click it doesn't matter who he was or wasn't with in the past. 🌺

@Coralmist That is true as long as the man is not trying to date within the same circle of acquaintances, like say in college or a workplace.
