@4meAndyou oh yeah the summer of 1980 was pure hell without a/c. Also 2011-2012 was dangerous for those who didn’t have a/c. Even a Boy Scout troop master told me the reason he was buying the smallest a/c was to air condition his tent, he said there were power poles near every tent. Said he was getting too old to roast. Walmart sold a lot of window unit A/C’s that summer of 2011. Air conditioning units were working day and night and many had them go out completely and didn’t have the cash to install new ones. So they bought one or two window units and used those till they could save up. The electric bills were so high that summer too.
