I did that once... I hit a cat .., it just darted suddenly in front of me. I felt so terrible that I stopped and moved it to the nearby yard and knocked on the door. I was distraught and told the lady how sorry I was that I could not avoid hitting the cat... She looked harshly at me and said that I should make it up to her by buying them another expensive cat. I left & never looked back. Also vowing not to stop again.
.... I’ve had animals hit by cars & determined my animal was in the road, so even though I missed the animal, I didn’t blame the driver.

My husband and I were out for a drive at night, we accidentally hit a dog. We stopped, picked the dog up and put it in our back seat. We were able to find the owner. She was so happy that we brought her home. We saved the dogs life. She continued to be so grateful for what we did.☺

Yes. The only time I hit someone's dog I took it to the vet and paid for it. Where I live though the pet owner is responsible for the animal and any damage they cause. I have several pets but none have been hit by vehicles since I was a kid. I'm glad your pup will be okay.

Of course.i hit one once.poorthing! I wrapped the dog in my leather jacket.the minute I picked her up,blood started spurting everywhere.i rushed her to the pet hospital. She made it. I was on the highway when i hit her.ill never forget it. Poorthing! I was devastated.I met the owners and the mayor of the town.What a frikken day!
