amazing to live like this ,freedom is power and to live in such a beautiful place with good people and many advantages there , then you just keep living there 😻😻 happily ..

I lived near a border crossing growing up . There was guards watching but they was only there in case of a problem very seldom did they stop anyone most of the time it was only to say welcome and have a good day.
Now 40 years later you need a passport just to cross the bridge either way. Very sad ,these changing times.

I grew up on the border of the Ontario and Quebec provinces in Canada and I swear the Ontario side would over maintain their side to make the Quebec side look bad.

@JimboSaturn We were in Rockcliffe, same area but further East.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@spjennifer Ah Rockcliffe eh? fancy lol
spjennifer · 61-69, T
@JimboSaturn My Parents were both US Foreign Service so I think we were restricted where we could live. I believe they just took over the apartment from their predecessors but I was just a kid when we lived there, it was a nice place though. We moved to Montreal when I was 10.

There used to be a joke when I was young (in the 1950s and 60s) that the roads from Germany into Holland, Belgium and France were poorly maintained outside Germany to slow the tanks down.
WolfGirlwh0r3 · 36-40, T
you can also see the border in the grass, the Belgium side's grass is crazy!
Soph03 · 18-21, F
@WolfGirlwh0r3 very true but it's usually not crazy, I just got it on a good day for the netherlands 😀
WolfGirlwh0r3 · 36-40, T
@Soph03 i was trying to boost the Netherlands saying it
Soph03 · 18-21, F
@WolfGirlwh0r3 thank you, we appreciate it 🙏

There is no physical boundary wall???
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@msros When I drive on holiday from Norway to the UK I usually don't stop at a border post until I get to Dunkerque after driving over 1 600 km through seven countries.
Soph03 · 18-21, F
@ninalanyon I love Norway ❤️ yes for a long time I only knew I left one country and entered another because it said that data roaming charge were on but now we don't even need that
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
Perfect, apart from the way the bike lanes suddenly end!
I love the little cottage too 🙂

Soph03 · 18-21, F
@SunshineGirl yes it's very quaint. I don't think i'd even mind being that close to a road
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
It sure is nice to be insignificant
Soph03 · 18-21, F
@Jackaloftheazuresand I'll take this insignificance any day if it continues delivering safe schools, affordable healthcare and education, excellent public services and freedom to travel 👍

Soph03 · 18-21, F
@SW-User not the only border crossing but it's an example of our philosophy
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
🤔.........do you need to take your passport with you to walk next door to visit your neighbor?
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
🤔..........To bad all the countries borders around the world can't be like this.......
Strongtea · 22-25, M

In the US it’d be full of potholes, to be fixed only during an election year.
Soph03 · 18-21, F
@SW-User not to mention a big wall seperating both countries
