Ever had long durations of lay overs or flight cancellations? and stuck at the airport?

I was stuck in Seattle because of snow delays for like 10 hours. I was sitting next to this young lady and she had a big bag of sunflower seeds. We were talking and she offered me some, so I took a handful. As we're sitting there I noticed an older gentleman sitting across from us a few seats down. He is in a nice 3 pc suit and he is asleep with the back of his head against the wall and an upside down fedora sitting in his lap. I tell her I bet you can't get one of those seeds inside of his hat. Sure I can she says, she takes a seed raises her arm and let's it fly. It hits the rim and bounces off. Let me see you do it, she says. So I grab a seed raise my arm and send it on its way. Nothing but net, it went right in. I know I can do it she says, picks up another seed and throws it. Right on the money it goes right in. Bet you can't do it again I tell her. Ha, she says and sends another one on its way. Again she hits her mark and it disappears into his hat. Good job I tell her. Hey let's see who can get the most in his hat she challenges me. Ozkay. You got 2 now I tell her and I've got one. So I put another one in the air and in it goes. 2-2 I tell her. She throws another one and , perfect toss it goes in. 3 Nice I tell her. I send another one and it disappears into his hat . We go back and forth until we were up to like 15-17 each. Something distracted us and we forgot about our contest. About an hour later I was looking at my phone and the young lady shakes my arm and tilts her head towards the man with the hat. I look over and he is waking up. He rustles around a little bit stands up and as he takes a step forward he goes to put his hat on and all those sunflower seeds come raining down on his head and all around him. The young lady and about 5 other people busy out laughing. He lifts his hat shakes it out , looks around and walks off. Apparently several other people had seen what we were doing and were just waiting for him to stand up. He sat far away from us when he returned. Hey....we were bored, and it was kind funny seeing all those sunflower seeds raining down.

I had a friend of mine send me an airport scavenger hunt list. I had to go around and try to find stuff in the airport and take pictures of it.

I once had a flight delay from DC to Houston, but it had a happy ending. I shared a limo ride with an astronaut.

Stuck for several hours in Wayne International outside Detroit after a huge storm, including a tornado passed by. Emergency power only, no AC or food and a concourse filled with people. Had to roll a cart full of heavy video equipment through a howling wind a long way to the main terminal. Never been so glad to finally get out of an airport

OMG all the time. Hoping it doesn’t happen again tonight.

Once sat at a bar with an opera singer in NYC for about 5 hours discussing music. Once met a girl from Harvard that I would up hiring as a summer intern. Sometimes I find a quiet spot and write poetry. I don’t mind too much as long as I know I’ll make it home. But getting stranded overnight is miserable.

Had a 10 hour layover and they closed most of the airport, ended up just hanging out, have wheelchair races and eating old ass food from Starbucks 😂

Not a long layover but I did once nearly miss a connecting flight. I went for a walk around the airport. I didn't know it was a short stop. Nobody had told me what to do.

sadly, was stuck in an airport for 2 days because of a blizzard. luckily i had a club membership, was able to rest better. they would not give us our luggage, so despite having a shower, i had no access to a change of clothing.
