Awesome pics. I am so glad you had a great and wonderful time in Egypt. I always wanted to go there. It's also amazing that those mummies have been dead for nearly 5,000 years and they look 100 times better than most Hollywood celebrities.
I'm an Egyptian who spent most of his life away from Egypt. And you have no clue how badly I miss going to all of these places. Besides the people of Egypt they're very welcoming and very very down to earth with a great sense of humor. I'm so glad you enjoyed your time. Great picture by the way
It is my dream holiday. Top of my list, KindHeart. You are so fortunate to have walked those sands, those paths in tombs, etc. If I ever go, may I ask you advice? Did you go to the Valley of the Kings? See the Sphinx? Wow, oh, wow. Did you eat the food and what kinds? I have a wonderful true love story of a friend of mine who met her soulmate there. She remains married to him. It all started over a bottle of Coca Cola. LOL.
@PoetryNEmotion yes. i tried to label all of the pics but had some problems doing that. King tut is in the Valley of the Kings, The Sphynx is included in the pics. and absolutely ask away. it is worth the money
@BridgeOvertroubledWaters I'm curious, was your trip for business or pleasure, if I'm not being too nosey? I'm asking because a friend recently returned from a business trip there and raved about Lebanon and the Lebanese people. He's ready to go back. He spent some time in Byblos (sp?) and his photos are wonderful.
I just went for the first time myself, a year and a half ago. I love Old Cairo and the Pyramids were a sight to be seen. I still need to go back and visit Luxor and see "The Valley of the Kings."
Not the safest place to visit . I hear alot of people come back suffering with the squirts . Dont drink anything but bottled water dont eat anything raw including salad as its washed in tap water which aint safe .
@Rhode57 we had absolutely no problems except for the riot in the marketplace and the security guy had to come get us with his UZI...but no problems with the diet at all.
Wow!!! Cool stuff!! You should label what we are looking at. King Tut's tomb is obvious, and I do recognize the inside of the great pyramid, and the Sphinx, but not familiar with the rest.
@akshamaeh7331 i don't think there are secret services in Egypt but they started with the top pyramid called Saqqara as their template and developed a better plan as they went.
@akindheart really? Sakkara? Some people think they used a water floating system to get the block up there. i think its so mysteroise how we cant build like that today.. Isnt it crazy how at the very top it is soo smooth and perfect. then near the bottom its crumbling i heard its because they reused the easier to reach blocks on other things. I hear it used to have a gold tip. And used to conduct electricity?! They even found a copper wiring.
@akindheart I call it the Big Three Empires of their time....Greece, Rome, and Egypt. Those are wonders let alone their architecture. Their culture, life in general,....every aspect is super interesting.
