So you think people should just ingest things made by drug companies without being informed or the dangers?
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@hippyjoe1955 but that’s the point Joe. For most people it is completely harmless. All chemicals have an effect on the body: that’s the point of medicine. Nearly everything has an inconsequential side effect, but is always a balance of benefit versus disbenefit. In this case, no study has come up with anything that needs the kind of drastic scaremongering which Trump and his cronies are about to unleash on an already paranoid population.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@FreddieUK Yes?
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@hippyjoe1955 Sorry pressed send to swiftly with sticky fingers, so you got an empty message. Now filled in.

FreddieUK · 70-79, M
British medics have been swift to say that this is completely baseless. It does seem to me that autism has become the excuse to ban all sorts of things. I presume the pharmacy industry in the states isn’t strong enough to stand up against him? For all that people say that they are behind a lot of bad things, they don’t seem to have much sway with the regulators when it comes to sensible medication. In the UK will continue to be the ‘ go to’ painkiller for women during pregnancy.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@FreddieUK Australian Medical Authorities have also called Trump out on this..😷
breezyboo · 31-35
You need to put things into perspective. Do you know how many people have died from drugs the CDC approved? Do you know how many drugs have been pulled because of blood clots, heart attacks, blindness etc etc etc? Why anyone has faith in the CDC and the FDA is beyond me. The US has a lower mortality rate than MANY European countries. Think about that.

So, RFK wants to say Tylenol causes autism ... Let him prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt. The ownership is on him (and Trump).

Don't allow the media to create a distorted sense of right and wrong. The medical community (and their financial affiliations > insurance companies)do not have your best interest at hand. It should not be called "health" insurance, it should be called sick insurance. They are a disgrace.
EBSVC · 36-40, T
@breezyboo Yes, I also hate capitalism
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@breezyboo i don't know why you are so angry at the medical care industry in the US. I can't really apologize for all of the industry, but I think you do not really have the facts. You need to study how and why the US does not have a healthcare system.

i guess you intended your comments as rhetorical questions. My answer is yes, I do know how many medications have been approved and then removed after more information became available. Do you? How many can you list? Do you know how many research subjects are involved in testing before a new medication is reviewed for licensing? Do you know the steps taken to be sure a medication is BOTH safe and effective?

Your mentioning of blood clots, etc., suggests that you are one of those convinced that the covid vaccine was ineffective and caused more harm the good. The data is very clear that it was/is safe and effective. It saved at least hundreds of thousands of lives. There are some adverse reactions, and if you were so affected, it could have been a disaster, but no more so than the complications of COVID 19, which killed over 1.3 million US citizens alone.

I totally agree that we do not have health insurance, we have limited medical care insurance, because special interests, primarily in the right side of the social sphere, have blocked every attempt at providing universal health care. We are forced to treat illnesses and not prevent them. It is true medicine is a business, one with enormous front costs. The average medical student last year graduated from medical school about a quarter of a million dollars in debt! It is very difficult to pay back those loans, live and try to support a family and set aside some money as savings.

Even so, with a few bad eggs as exception, you will not find many members of the medical care who do not try to treat the patients as they would want to be treated themselves!

I have literally never seen a group of people so afraid of something that is pretty natural. It is insane the fear they have of autism.

How about instead of fearing autism, you make the nation a lot more inclusive for autistic people? That seems like an intelligent thing to do.
EBSVC · 36-40, T
@FoxyQueen It would be nice if people did that. 🙃

Although there does seem to be some good evidence that folinic acid can help some of the more severe aspects of autism is young children, and to my understanding carries minimal risk, I just don’t trust him to communicate accurately or his followers to understand
HoeBag · 46-50, F
@FoxyQueen Every time a child in school doesn't have the discipline of a US Marine, they get labeled with ADD or some variant. Basically it has lost meaning at this point.

Something I wonder - so pregnant women are often in pain, and now they are being told to avoid a basic (and mild) pain k*ller like Tylenol? Yeah I bet THAT is going to go over real well.

Anything tRump says, one has to imagine it is probably complete bull.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@FoxyQueen It hasnt even occured to anyone that the autism spectricum is normal and its the non enhanced people who are "Challenged".😷
SUPERVlXEN · F
There's a lot to be worried about with the current state of things. It's all about one man and his enablers and the cruelty they can spread to keep control. They've studied the books of how to turn a nation into dictatorship. They'll dictate how to look at things, not acknowledging science. They will make sure that inclusivity only contains their supporters. Everyone else is part of the deep state and enemies of the people and deserve nothing less than being destroyed. Let evil rule in the name of god!
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@SUPERVlXEN I often want to use the term ‘ collaborator’ for those enabling this outrage.
SUPERVlXEN · F
@FreddieUK
It comes to mind for some of them closer to the regime. But all those staying silent and mute are actually enablers.

Mount Sinai reported a study that prenatal acetaminophen may be linked to increased risk of autism and ADHD
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Jenny1234 he is misinterpreting the article and recommending things that are unproductive. He has made this issue a political one, as he tends to do, and is further destroying faith in scientific evaluation.
@HoeBag 👏🙌
@Jenny1234 not really. But it looked for correlation.
You have to wonder what stocks he's trying to boost with this announcement. The science behind thhis is extremely shaky if you're being generous.

@EBSVC it may prevent those who really need it from receiving it.
It's normal to lie about things in the USA and to crush the truth. Obviously the social conditions are primitive and punishing for everyone. That's what they were aiming for!
Lilymoon · F
He is clueless. Sorry 😐
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@Lilymoon I love you, but would you really believe a CBC news report over Mount Sinai?
Lilymoon · F
@Jenny1234 True. I just have a hard time believing anything that comes out of that pumpkins mouth haha

Is this trump character the same one who was going to lower drug prices by 1000%? 😄
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
I cant wait for the lawsuit the Tylenol people are going to hit trump with over this...😷

The dumbing down continues :(
@TheYawnArchive I'd like the think that most Americans still have their marbles and will simply ignore him.
