No other distractions when it’s dark and calm. At least that’s been my experience.

If you're anything like me it's only once you're in bed with nothing else to occupy your mind other than sleep that you worry about all the things you can't do anything about.

Do you drink a lot of coffee or tea (caffeine)etc, if you domake the last drink around 7pm, you should sleep better

@GovanDUNNY actually I don’t drink caffeine…. Sometimes I miss coffee and soda but I know I can’t drink those things anymore. One cup of coffee stays in the body for 3 days; crazy.

I used to think (still do I reckon) that it has something to do with how distracted you are and what's going on around you
during the day, you have the sounds of cars, birds, the tv, music, it is light, etc
at nighttime you're basically lying in bed going over your life and how it's turning out (or at least my experience anyway)

Overthinking usually strikes when you just want the world to be quiet

I think it’s common for people to worry more at night

No responsibilities to keep you mind occupied
You'll have to learn to clear your mind in order to sleep

The stillness, the quiet/silence, the isolation, the darkness invites these thoughts and reflection.
