I have stopped caring about fairness

When it comes to opposing opinions, if you are wrong, I couldn't care less about giving you equal floor time. Your opinions don't deserve or warrant respect or attention. The fact that one may think they do tells me they don't understand the power of words, therefore, they have no idea what weapon they are weilding.

A weapon in an untrained hand is dangerous.

Ergo, an opinion of an untrained person is dangerous and does not deserve to be heard.

Period.

I consider myself fairly educated, and if I'm not sure about a topic, I do my research. If someone has a difference in opinion on something that has been said, I shrug it off. It's not worth my time or effort arguing.

@HowtoDestroyAngels I do the same if I am not certain on a topic. It is the fair thing to do. But when I see wrong speak from the onset, I don't entertain it.

Although i agree with you. I have to also say that maybe i can be wrong sometimes. I try hard not to argue unless i feel 100% that my position is correct. I will often do a deep dive into the subject and post a quotation if it is on social media.

In trl life, my administrator, when i left the institution i had been at for over 30 years said, you can be arrogant, abrasive, and antagonistic, but darn it, you were always right! In. Hate to lose a fight, so will never fight without the proper support

@samueltyler2 I am always open to being wrong. This means that I will look up information given to me so that I can be better informed before replying. But there are certain opinions, regardless of the information they give me, I know to be wrong. I refuse to entertain those.
You’re not wrong for feeling this way. It’s tiring being thoughtful in a world where so many people aren’t.

An opinion is an opinion

Even the experts change their minds based on new information

But I agree

If you hear something that doesn't pass the sniff test...I need to listen to it
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Pretzel do you mean you don't listen to things not passing the smell test?
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
And thus another opportunity to train someone to understand there can be opposing viewpoints without either side being absolutely right or wrong. Failure to listen is the biggest downfall in communication; the equivalent of falling upon that weapon you are wielding.

@whowasthatmaskedman Not Native American, but I'm with that Masked Man. Riding the same horse.

Thank you. Thank you, this skillfully articulates feelings I’ve been having for awhile.

Fairness only works if everyone is fair, or those few who arent get called on in publicly and immediately. If you want your own way, dont engage with others. It will only disappoint if you count on them to be fair..😷
Yeah, my brain tunes out after a certain point. I don't like wasting my time.
FoxyGoddess · 51-55, F
@HijabaDabbaDoo i shut it down when they pose "important questions" to me, while ignoring my questions, claiming I ignored theirs.

That tells me all I need to know.
@FoxyGoddess it's a disingenuous conversation at that point. Not one where they're receptive or curious. So it's good to know when to start and when to finish.

Mind if I let the "bad guy" say stuff on my blog?
