What have you lost to The Vortex of Lost Things

In the last 2 weeks alone the Vortex has absconded with:

2 pairs of nail clippers
my favorite comb
my favorite brush
A travel sized bottle of GoldBond Medicated Powder
An envelope with $16 in it
And a winning scratch ticket for $50

And that's just the stuff I know about and have been looking for.

I live alone, in a 1 bedroom apartment that has 3 closets and I can't find these things anywhere right now...

So, what has the Vortex hidden from you?

My energy and my overall health
But I will get them back ...

My get up and go. I think it got up and went. I have no energy or motivation to do the things I need to do and a growing list of tedious jobs.

@PatientlyWaiting25 I could so go for like 1 more month of summer vibes.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@HikingMan same. I hate the cold.
HikingMan · 56-60, M
@PatientlyWaiting25 I love the winter and snow. Snow is even better now that I live in the condo and I don't have to shovel. I love hiking in the winter. It's so supper quiet with all the snow absorbing the sound. Going sledding with the kids and snowball fights.... Love it ! I love all 4 seasons actually. It's just summer is usually great for going out and doing all kinds of random stuff, and I really like swimming.

A very expensive set of hearing aids. Probably the cat batted them somewhere but I have to tear the house apart to find them.
HikingMan · 56-60, M
@ineedadrink That sucks.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
Endless socks and a very important phone number.
HikingMan · 56-60, M
@Entwistle A phone number? You wrote down a phone number ? 🤔
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@HikingMan Yes i did,this was back in 1997.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@HikingMan I have all my contacts' names, addresses and numbers written down; as well as stored on my PCand some on my 'phone.

Why?

Because if they were all only on one piece of electronickery and that failed, I'd lose the lot.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
All sorts of things.

It seems to have satellite eddies that draw in small objects within five minutes of my putting them down.

As for combs.... I likely have many due to forever buying replacements.

Usually the objects sucked in by the smaller eddies do wash up fairly soon on some foreign shore like the work-top opposite the one I knew I placed them on; but the whereabouts of one book remains a mystery. I'd only read one chapter, too, before The Vortex swallowed it.... about four years ago

@ArishMell The Vortex is strong with this one...
