That's happened to me before with a family member when I bought her a tablet. It wasn't cheap though; the brat just wanted the most expensive model. She ended up breaking it and asking me to buy her another one. I didn't, and I haven't bought her a thing since then. I keep quiet and I remember it.

I would be very disappointed that someone who I thought highly enough of to give a gift to, was so shallow, materialistic, and insensitive. I would seriously reconsider my relationship with such a person.

I'd tell them they were superficial jerks with zero graciousness or class and to never expect any more "unacceptable" gifts from me ever
