I don't hang out with people that are too nice because they hold everything in and therefore are more likely to become serial killers over a misunderstanding about the color of dresses to wear to the party tomorrow night.

What do you consider rude?

@ChaoticallySimple: people being blunt, not holding doors to people. When people are polite but also a little rude and tells it like it is.
My sister is polite but also blunt and straight up to the point. She has a lot of friends.

Exactly. You have to figure out where you stand. I believe the saying is "if you don't stand for anything, people will walk all over you."

It is all a matter of perception and conditioning.
If you have never known rude or blunt people, you would likely find them to be quite hard to be around or interact with, especially if your sense of worth in the world was expanded in positive and peaceful interaction spaces.
Then again, if the blunt and rude types are the norm for you, and you like to lay it down thick and don't take any shit from anybody, these "sweet talkers" probably seem like they are either being completely dishonest, or have had certain portions of their anatomy removed.

People who are always cheerful and overly sweet, passive, and nice seem fake and disingenuous. Very often they are.
It's creepy as hell.

@RiverRatGlis: That was...pretty harsh. Are you saying I'm creepy?
